Yeah I know it's kind of shitty to do, and I have not been angry enough to do so in many years, but when I was between the ages of 10 and 16 I probably broke an NES controller, an SNES controller and the stupid magnifying glass that you could attach to your Gameboy that also had a really dim light so you could play at dark.

I also may have been the only person to actually have that stupid Gameboy accessory in this part of the world.

I'm not positive what all the games were that made me so mad, but I know for a fact I broke the NES controller because of Kid Icarus.

Any other anger management eligible people here do the same?

The only controller that ever broke on me was an old PS1 controller, but it was because of the dog pulling on the wire, while it was plugged in and tearing the covering off of the wires themselves. I've thrown alot of N64 controllers, but they all work due to them being bulky as hell.

I once smashed my Macbook against a wall... And bit down on my DS a few times, but those were accidental.

My little brother has broken at least three of our GameCube controllers, as well as a couple of our PSOne controllers.

I broke an original XboX controller by swinging it by the cord straight into the floor.

I had a wireless xBox controller that became a projectile.

That ended poorly.

I did that by accident with a PS2 controllers. I was mad at a game, and I usually take the controller and hold it up in the air then act like I am going to throw it at the floor, but then stop midswing and then gently setting it down and saying "F*** this." and taking a break.

Durring a frustrating match on SvR2006, I went through the motions but when I brought my hand down, the controller slipped out, the cord caught my finger and it swung around and smashed into my coffee table. It litterally exploded. A few days later I found one of the vibration motors under my fridge which was about 10 feet away and around a wall from where I busted the controller. I still can't figure out how it made that trajectory.

Smashed a PS1 controller once...I tend to try and snap the controller in half like it was a stick instead of throwing it.

What make me insane though is how the wire for the Classic Wii controller comes out the bottom instead of the top.....I want to throw it every time I pick it up....then I realize that the two controllers in my hand cost $60 bucks and I settle down.

I've never broken one out of anger, slamming it around. Only broke them out of over-use. I've never really gotten the whole anger thing in gaming, screaming when you die or something.

I did for the first time a few months ago. I slammed it onto the ground until it split and then ripped the circuit board to pieces. I don't know why I did it. Normally I have a lot better control over my anger however I just lost it and went into a blind rage. It was my favorite remote too.

I've had the urge to do it sometimes, but never did. Even that time when I almost went insane because I always lost at the end for 4 hours straight. It just wasn't woth it.

My parents didn't take me doing stupid shit like that lightly either. If I had ever thrown a controller, it would probably have resulted in a one month ban from video games.

I one time just ripped a Snes controller off the wire (due to shit that had nothing to do with games) and I've made 2 PS2 controllers dead by static shock.

Nope...I still have mine:

A few PS2 controllers have ended up in the receiving end of a random act of violence courtesy of yours truly... one was thrown onto the floor so hard that some of the shoulder buttons flew off and the left thumbstick broke, a couple others stayed intact on the outside but the rumble motor was broken.

I haven't thrown any controllers in quite a long time, though. Maybe I have calmed down somewhat over the years.

I've broken at least one Xbox controller and one or two 360 controllers. Mostly playing NHL because things in those games happen that wouldn't happen in a real game and the best goalie in the league on my team can't stop a beach ball half of the time.

It's been a while since I b roke a controller though, when I get controller-throwing-mad I take my broken one and toss it around, havn't done that in a while either.

I've also noticed that NHL games as well as wrestling games are the ones most likely to piss me off. Nowadays I just prefer to swear in a way that would make the Angry Video Game Nerd blush instead of throwing stuff, but at least two of those previously smashed controllers I mentioned met their doom during a Smackdown vs. RAW session.

I used to smash my tiny little fist on my Gameboy, I never broke it though. I usually punch my controllers and stuff, or act like I'm going to snap them in half, but I don't think I've ever broken one. I did break one of the hinges on my original DS though. I was playing Fire Emblem on it, and had lost this one level like 30 times. I thought I was actually going to win once, and when one of my characters died I just screamed "FUUUUUCK" and threw it down on the floor. So then at night I snuck it out in the living room and made it look like one of the cats knocked it on the floor. The damn thing still works though.

Oh yea, I once used my PS1 controllers to tie up my girlfriend. Tied her hands behind her back, and her feet. While trying to get free, she swung around and slammed one of the controllers against the bed post. It didn't work after that.

Totally worth it.

Yep, three or four times actually. What's hilarious is that, with people, I never, ever, EVER lose my temper. Even if someone is in my face, screaming at the top of their lungs, I just get more and more quiet and reserved and controlled. (That's one of the ways I survived boot camp Drill Sergeants lol.)

When it comes to technology, though, I have just about the foulest temper you could possibly imagine. Screaming cusswords at the top of my lungs if alone, under my breath if there's someone else in the house, and yes, I've had to pony up upwards of 100$ worth of PS2 controllers in my lifetime. And that's just PS2 controllers...on one memorable occasion, I was so pissed I threw an SNES controller full force...right into my DVD player. Both were destroyed. That was an expensive fucking game of Donkey Kong Country. No... just no.

Fortunately, when it comes to PCs, I'm a bit more restrained because they cost so much. I did have to take one in for repairs once because I pounded the keyboard so hard it stopped functioning...I told them I dropped it. Confused *sigh* I should probably get a better hold on my temper.

I remember breaking an Atari 2600 controller and a Playstation controller. I damaged a Genesis controller too, but it still functioned after the incident. I can't remember why I broke the 2600 joystick since I was pretty young, but Frogger caused the demise of the Playstation controller and one of EA's NHL Hockey games sealed the Genesis controllers fate.

P.S. I had a Lightboy too. I still do actually, but it has seen better days.

I don't blame you for breaking it.

I'm guilty of murder on 2 PS2 controllers and attempted murder on a Gamecube controller...

PS2 controller #1 - I was playing the Choboco racing minigame in Final Fantasy X, trying to get whatever item it was that got you Tidus's (I think) best weapon. After failing for what was probably way past the 1000th time, the controller just flew out of my hand into the tv (I was too angry to consider where to aim it) and broke into little pieces.

PS2 controller #2 - Happened during a session of Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in the States). The details are sketchy but it was caused by a similiar frustration. This time I at least remembered to aim at the wall.

The Gamecube controller was during a session of Mario Kart: Double Dash and I'm amazed that both the controller survived and that I only did it once considering that playing that game would literally turn me into a mouth frothing demon.

I probably also threw my NES controller plenty of times as a kid, but seeing as those things could survive nuclear blasts it doesn't really matter.
