Twitter is a micro-blogging site. It lets you post a couple lines of text to let people know what you're doing. It has become increasingly popular with politicians, sports franchises, and celebrities. There's just one catch: Twitter doesn't do it well.
On Twitter, you are limited to 140 characters per tweet. On the Facebook equivalent of a tweet, a status update, you can use up to 420 characters. That's right; Facebook is three times better at doing what Twitter does. And Twitter only does THAT ONE FUCKING THING. Facebook is a social networking site with all sorts of other useful features, that is, if you can stand getting 120 MafiaWars invitations each day. And on top of that, Twitter crashes at least once a week. When was the last time Facebook crashed? No one can remember.

It's 140 characters because Twitter was initially used with phones. A SMS message is 140 characters long. Deal with it.

The fact that you couldn't fir the word "characters" instead of words is so absurdly ironic it's great.

I still don't understand the "make money by having 89259692 twitter followers" spam. What's the point?

You could have said "chars" instead of "words". But then Hacker might have thought you meant 140 CharAznables.

I too hate Twitter. I only really use it to promote my site/blog.

I'm sick of hearing about Twitter. Everywhere I fucking go "dur, new shit on Twitter" shut the fuck up.

Slash has been using it to detail the progress on his solo album, which is sweet.

Damn people, i was joking, I go to take a nap and you explode. I didn't mean to write characters but realized that it wouldn't fit and replaced it, I merely accidentally put words instead of characters.
for example: Same entry minus with characters minus one word
@Syd_Lexia how much do you really have to say that can't be said in 140 characters, if you need more there are always blogs. All done see?!
But really this is a stupid thing to argue about, if you don't like it then don't go. Twitter will wane away just like other internet fads.
^Also 140

I think the idea is that you can follow a whole bunch of people if you only have to read one line of text about each of them.
It is a stupid fucking idea.

What they do is, some of them post multiple tweets at a time so if someone is following someone they are reading more than one line of text, most of the time.
Actually, I remember facebook crashing last week. It was even on the news, both twitter and facebook were attacked by hackers.
But yea, twitter sucks ass compared to facebook. I don't "tweet" anything myself, but I have an account to follow some cool people, like Gov. Schwarzenegger and that guy that directed "The Toxic Avenger".
