Well it's 2:43 AM and I just finished up Char's Counterattack. Directed by Yoshiyuki "Kill em all" Tomino; Char's Counterattack brings a conclusion to the bitter rivalry between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable.
Personally, I loved it. I'm not going to give a summary of the plot, but I will share some thoughts with anyone who reads my crappy posts.
I never did like Amuro. The excuse that he's young doesn't permit rude, idiotic behavior. I remember in the television series his constant tendency to ignore commands and advice; this promptly warranted a bitch-slap by the captain, Bright Noa. A friend on this site would know the wrath of his pimp hand.
Well in Char's Counterattack, we see that Amuro has grown up a bit, but not really. He argues with Char on their opposing ideologies on humanity. While playing the moral card, he seems to forget the whole "Titans" ordeal. Though Char's ideas are radical, they have some truth behind them.
Like I said, I loved the movie. I want to hear any thoughts on this.
Also. If this has been done already, sorry. Just lock up the thread, I will understand.

Haha I know him in real life. He admires Char, for good reason. I'm starting to admire him myself.

I'm almost done watching the Universal Century of Gundam shows (to the uninitiated, the classic timeline), with only F91 left to watch.
I liked it and the emotional but happy note it ended on, even though I'm not so big on it nor the Nu Gundam which fans spooge over (but I will agree that it's Fin Funnels are the best weapon on a mobile suit second only to the V2's Wings of Light.)
Kinda felt for Quess. Yeah, she was a brat, but she was a confused girl caught up in Amuro and Char's 14 year-old beef. Hathaway coulda got some too. =p
Also, I thought Amuro had the final Crowning Moment of Awesome for what he ended up doing in the end there.

i've never understood why everyone loves Zeon so much, they're practically nazi's (in the later series, they even have a very similar flag) and char is an inhuman dick.

Quess was interesting, I'll give her that. Her skills were underdeveloped but still good enough to pilot a Newtype mobile armor.
And to Kajjiro, Zeon is far from Nazis actually; the imagery similarities to Nazism are intentional however. Zeon just fights to break away from the corrupt Earth Federation. Actually, in the Gundam Zeta series, the Earth backed Titans are more reminiscent of Nazis.
Also, Char despises Earth for good reasons. Like I said in my thoughts above, I do believe his actions are a bit radical. The Gundam series is pretty good on blurring which side is more justified in thier actions.

I only know about the Gundam storyline from Dynasty Warriors: Gundam...
That being said, I watched Gundam Wing on CN when it first aired and fell in love with it, so I really want to see all the other series (serieses? Whatever).

Gundam Wing was very good. That was my first experience with Gundam, as with many others. The other series are quite good as well. I remember the butchered up version of Gundam Seed that ran on CN. That was horrible. I watched the unedited version a few weeks ago and I must say I liked it. MOGHARR, you should check the other Gundam shows out.

*Sigh* I have a lot of animes/manga I would love to get but sadly I have neither the money or time.

G Gundam is pretty amusing for a mostly-mindless "Tournament Series." I'd love to see someone do a Power Stone-style arena fighter with it.
I've only seen a few bits and pieces from 00, but it's got me very interested.
My friends have told me repeatedly that SEED is..."acceptable" but that SEED Destiny is bad.
I have to confess I've only seen the original MSG through what CN used to show. So I've never seen Char's Counterattack. However, I do have a 1/100 scale Black Tri-Stars Zaku model (was a bitch to assemble).

What can you say, if you've never seen gundam you've never watched anime. Its definitive series of serious mecha shows. Check out 8th ms team or whatever its called, tis good. I'm fond of G Gundam for pure cheese factor. Gundam wing didn't age well I'n my opinion.
As a side note, I rarely recognize Char the forumer unless he has a gundam avatar. Which he hasnt had in a while. I'm getting old.

Tell you what, I'll throw a helmet on old Blitzer here.
I really do love all Gundam, even the shitty ones (and believe me, G-Saviour is about as shitty as you can get). I'd say that a pretty good starter series is either Wing or G Gundam. Both are alternate-universe tales, with one being basically a compressed retelling of Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta, and Char's Counterattack, and the other being a batshit insane Street-Fighteresque kung fu romp. But yeah, Wing hasn't aged too well, what with its bulky 90's-tastic suits and its reliance on the same reused animation for cannon fodder death. It will always hold a place in my heart (and on my DVD shelf), however.

Gundam: The 8th MS Team is a very good series. It's one of the only series to not focus on a ace pilot and focuses more on squad tactics. It's easy to find via torrent.
By the way Char, do you approve of my avatar? Haha.

It fits your name, I guess. I would've popped it into Photoshop and messed with the contrast a bit, but I know you don't have a copy.
