If you were at a bar with your friends what game/s would you go out of your way to play?

Okay, after deciphering the horrid grammar presented here, here's what I managed to gather:

You want to open up a bar that allows people to play old video games on a pay-per-play basis. However, you don't want to set up normal arcade cabinets (you might have heard of those), but rather you want to somehow connect coin slots to NESes, SNESes and other consoles.

Dude, either cut down on the dope, or change your dealer. He's lying to you.

I don't mean to crush your dreams, but the only way you can get "Maga-Man" in your bar would be to get a Playchoice-10. And that only gives you access to a limited library of NES games. I doubt there was anything you could plug into a SNES to turn it into an arcade cabinet.

Just get some normal, honest-to-shit arcade cabinets and replacable boards. No Zelda, but that's the only way you can get Street Fighter into an arcade.

From what I took from his post is that he doesn't want games like Mega Man and Zelda...Anyway, Street Fighter 2 is a must, and so is Mortal Kombat 2. Personally, one of my favorite old school Arcades is Off-Road. I would even throw in the ninja turtles arcade and WWF Wrestlefest. Those are my personal favs, mind you would be paying a pretty penny for some of those.

It is more than possible to make you own SNES cabinet. You have two choices for controls. One bolt down a few SNES Super Advantage controllers, or go buy Happs controls (Buttons and 8-way sticks, and then wire the buttons to a SNES control pad's circuit board. (1 wire from each button to each button sensor on the board, with a common ground for all.)

You could add in a coin slot which triggers a digital timer hooked to the power feed for the SNES. IE - A quarter could trigger the timer, and turn the system on for 10 minutes a pop, or something like that. The question becomes then, how do you select between multiple games? Well, option one is to emulate the games via zSnes or something of the like, of course you would have to make a custon frontend for it, so that the games can be selected by the controllers, and gives you a limited list. Option B would be to build your own multicart rack. You could use this (http://www.snega2usb.com/wordpress/) as the base, and then place them in series with a selctor, perhaps, even showing them through a plexiglass window on the cabinet so your player could see what games were currently on the system.

The same kind of setup could be created for almost any console.

Though, you wouldn't have to do anything special for Neo Geos, as the MVS (Arcade) and AES (Console) are the same.

Just get ACTUAL arcade games. There are plenty of classics. Suggestions:

Tapper, Ms. Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat 2, Super Street Fighter 2, X-Men, Golden Tee, Operation Wolf, Space Invaders

(build an emulation cabinet)

Yeah... I don't think that's legal. It's one thing to build your own emulation cabinet for personal use, but once you start charging other people money to play super illegal ROMs at a public establishment, I think you get civil and criminal charges brought against you. So let's never speak of this again.

Haddox is right while emulators cabinets would be easiest they are for now very illegal for home use let alone pay-to-play... well the ROMs are the illegal part but the point still stands.

Sorry that my first post was unintelligible. Let be posse a very simple question. One that we would not have to worry about witch method would be best, and can avoid the legal aspect of this discussion.

Billiards, usually. Goes well with beer.

If not that, then probably Time Crisis II or Tekken 3. Tekken Tag is also acceptable.

Out of curiosity, where do you live?

Just get some Namco classics, like Pac-Man, Mappy, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian and Galaga. Atari classics, like Centipede, Millipede, Pong and Asteroids would be equally great to have, too.

You should also get some Nintendo classics, like Donkey Kong and Mario Bros.

Some Konami beat-em-ups would be EXCELLENT additions to your selection! TMNT Turtles in Time, The Simpsons, and X-Men come to mind.

Also the classics: Killer Instinct, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, King of Fighters, Street Fighter 2 AND 3, Street Fighter Alpha 3...

Yeah. That's basically all you need when it comes to 1-on-1 fighters.

Nothing gets the testosterone flowing more than being at a bar and seeing a basketball game. 1 on 1, shot the most points for a minute. Greatest feeling ever to watch the jock get beat by the geek with a moving backboard. Plus you could hold tourneys and get some extra business that way. I'm assuming your rich because a liquor license is extremely expensive.

Most of the arcades I've been to have been divided into three sections: fighting games, racing games, and "everything else".

Fighting games:
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Capcom vs. SNK 2
Mortal Kombat II
Tekken 3
Virtua Fighter 4
Ultimate Mortal Kombat III
Killer Instinct
Soul Calibur

The racing genre isn't my forte, so I'd leave the decisions to someone else, with the exception of Arctic Thunder. The game isn't particularly challenging (just move forward and the game pretty much handles itself), but the air condition built into the game just above the monitor was a godsend when I'd go into the arcade on a hot day.

Everything else:
X-Men (cue Also Sprach Zarathustra)
Gauntlet
Robotron: 2084
Namco Museum
Tron
Gyruss
Golden Axe II
Skee Ball
Time Crisis 3
Air Hockey
Jurassic Park
Ms Pac-man/Galaga
That one Addams Family game where you'd put your hands on the two bars and it sent an electric current through your arms.

Revolution X, 1944, Truxton, Metal Slug, and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 if I felt I could take my opponent. I'm still pretty bad when it comes to using a joystick however I think I could get used to it given time. I'm a big fan so shoot-em-ups even if I'm not the most skilled and I've played Revolution X so many times I could hardly resist playing a game or two. I've never rescued all of Aerosmith then again I never really tried. I'd like to change that.
