So I just got done playing the Xbox 360 demo of this game and I'm pretty impressed. The voice acting is top notch with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Batman and The Joker. Also Barbara Gordon is in the game as Oracle who serves as your radio support. Her character bio in the game shows her in her wheelchair which I appreciated as it pulls from The Killing Joke. Arleen Sorkin also reprises her role as Harley Quinn and is in the demo in a couple scenes.
The gameplay is also very well done. The combat is fluid and quite fun. The stealth elements are also cool. I loved sneaking up behind guards or glide kicking them. I also liked when you're on a gargoyle if a guard passes under you can snatch them up and hang them from the gargoyle.
I'm rally looking forward to getting this game later this month.

Excellent! I'm glad to hear it lives up to the hype. I won't be playing it unless its magically released for the PC, but I'm glad its good and I'll have fun watching playthroughs I'm sure.

I played a demo of it at Target, and I must say that the combat is kickass. It's like watching a really well-choreographed fight scene, except you control the outcome.

I agree. I was kind of bummed when they delayed it and said it was being pushed back to October originally. Glad they only pushed it back until the end of August.

Played it twice. I thought it was going to be another throwaway license game, but I can see the developers had a real passion for the subject matter as well as the gameplay. It's very cool, and depending on the length, I might be picking this up with a lot of the awesome releases coming out soon.

The PC demo rocks. Controls great with a x360 controllers. Graphics are crisp, and even the PhysX support is awesome. I've played through it three times and want more, too bad us PC players have to wait a month longer than the console guys.

Alright, here's more praise, but for something that hasn't been mentioned.
For the first time in 20 years worth of Batman games, I felt like Batman. During the last part of the demo, where you have to take down 5 armed guards, I dispatched the first three guards on the second level without the bottom two guards knowing. I then did an inverted takedown on the fourth guard, which freaked out the final one. For a while, I was just watching the final guard walk through a narrow corridor, freaking out and pointing his weapon every which way, so that I had to time my approach just right. As I was circling this guy from the ceiling, watching him freaking out in the dark while the Joker cheered me on, I realized that this is exactly what Batman was supposed to be- not just a bunch of muscles and gadgets, but also a force of fear for criminals. I kind of enjoyed being on the other end of a fear spectrum in a game, being rewarded for my skills by making my enemies squirm and be scared of ME for once. It feels like how Batman SHOULD feel, and now no matter what, I'm going to be buying the game.

Good point. I also love how for the first time, the free-form combat system works. Watching Batman take on three guys at once, and actually having him do a fluid combo of moves as he fights between them is awesome.

1up.com gave this game an A-. not a bad score, especially for a batman game, considering all the dreck they've put out in the past

IGN gave it a 9.3 and called it "The Greatest Comic Book Game Of All Time."

Holy shit. I know they tend towards hyperbole, but still.
I never made it passed the first fight in the demo--for some reason, the controls got all fucked up on me so the "w" key kept making Batman walk *towards* the camera. I'm still trying to figure out what the issue is there, but at least now I have serious motivation to get things working again.
One thing I wish they had done with the game: casting Hamil as the Joker is brilliant, naturally, but I really wish they had brought in Cillian Murphy to do Scarecrow. He was such a bloody brilliant Jonathan Crane, and totally captured what I feel was the essence of the character. While I'm sure the actor playing him will do fine, I doubt there's any way he could top Murphy. (On the other hand, I love their visual imagining of him. The needles for fingers are both brilliant in terms of function, and fantastically disturbing and creepy. Especially if you don't like needles.)

And so my demo may suck as well. I still use XP for crying out load and if theres one thing i know about Next-gen games, is that XP can run them but their no where near as good as they could be. When i played HL2:ep2, the water was nothing but a bright white mass, at first i thought the water was poluted by the combine but then i found out nope, my video card is just not up to handle it.
