We here as members of Sydlexia Enterprises take our identities very fucking seriously. We absolutely fucking hate it when people try and pretend to be us, or someone else, or anyone else, for whatever reason, regardless of whether you think it's funny or not.
So when you're in the chat room, please don't take another person's name. Please don't pretend to be another person. Don't fuck with someone else's identity, regardless of who they are. Or we will kick your ass out. It just ain't cool.
This is directed at one person in particular, but it's also a general statement to everyone who visits or may visit the chat room. And while we can't speak for the forum mods, I'm 99.5% certain they feel the same way.

In all fairness, you should probably ask for that particular avatar to be taken out of the "please select your avatar from any of these" area. |
This would be applicable if he was a new guy who just didn't know that one of our mods happens to be very well identified with said avatar. Hacker, on the other hand, is neither reasonable nor intelligent, and is doing it to get attention. Therefore removing the avatar from the database will produce no discernible effect. Thus spake Dr. Hawk, Ph.D in Internet n00bery and douchebaggery.
(Although, removing it would probably be a good idea just on general principle too.)

A few points, some of which have already been brought up:
1. If someone wants to copy someone else's avatar, nothing is going to stop them.
2. At least 50% of you never even look at the public gallery.
3. The Dr. Vink avatar was a public avatar from the beginning. Jeebus just happened to choose to use it first and it has become synonymous with him.
4. If a regular poster has become associated with a particular public avatar, it is bad form for someone else to use it.

When someone else does something like that it could be construed as funny because they don't do it regularly. You fuck around like a little kid nonstop to the point where you aren't funny even if the things you do might be somewhat humorous.
Don't think of this thread as another merit badge for your Brownie sash, instead consider it to be a telltale sign that you are acting like a constant pain in the ass and really need to knock it off.

dood, he's 15 or 16. most of us acted obnoxious @ that age. is it annoying? yes. do we need to chastise him @ every turn? i dont believe so

Yes, but I'll bet none of us grew out of that stage just because we felt like it. We grew out of it because of negative reinforcement when we acted like asshats, and positive reinforcement when we acted like mature and contributing members of society. Just sayin'.
