Okay, so here's the deal. Now that I've gotten through Platinum's storyline and to the point where I can just sit back and battle properly (and the fact no new posts have been made in the old thread since April) I'm reviving this idea. Anyone interested in participating in the first Sydlexian Pokemon DPPt tournament can PM me. Once I have enough entrants (ideally 8, but if there's less within a month from now I'll see what can be arranged), I'll randomly arrange the match-ups and we can cover battle schedules afterward.

Da Rules
1.) Team construction: Each player much have a 6 pokemon team.
Of that team, no more than one may be an Uber-tier pokemon (Arceus, Darkrai, Deoxys (any), Dialga, Garchomp, Giratina (either), Groudon, Ho-oh, Kyogre, Latios, Lugia, Manaphy, Mew, Mewtwo, Palkia, Rayquaza, Sky forme Shaymin, Wobbuffet and Wynaut).
Furthermore, no more than three may be an Overused-tier pokemon (List here: http://www.smogon.com/dp/tiers/ou ).
Lastly, you cannot have more than one pokemon of the same kind, with the exceptions of Wormadam and Rotom (but the multiples must be of different formes).
2.) Move/Item Restrictions: No two pokemon can hold the same item. You cannot use suicide/sure kill moves like Destiny Bond against your opponent's last pokemon or have your last pokemon use a move like Self-Destruct or Explosion (using such move in this situation will disqualify the match and a rematch will then be held). Accupressure is allowed since the high boost is to a random stat. Attacks, Abilities and Items that boost evasion/decrease an opponent's accuracy (Sand-Attack/Bright Powder/Snow Veil/Sand Veil, etc.) are allowed.
3.) Move Bans: Double Team, Minimize, Fissure, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Horn Drill.
4.) Sleep/Freeze Clause. If one of an opponent's pokemon is frozen/asleep, you cannot use a move to inflict either status to the other active pokemon. Freezing or putting to sleep a second pokemon is a rematch. (Both trainers must choose Run on their next turn and rebattle).
5.) Battle Format: Level 50 All Double Battle.

Entering the Tournament
When you send me your PM to join, please inform me of your poketeam, as well as your Trainer name and Friend Code. I will then post all this information for each participant at the same time in this thread. I have already provided my own team and such in the interest of fairness and so you guys know I won't be planning my team to counter what you guys run. Furthermore, if you'll be using Platinum to play, let me know so I can be aware of who can record their matches.
