Anyone ever play this on the PS2? It's coming to the Wii next month, and I'd love to play a half-decent super Japanese RPG. The user reviews on GameFAQs seem mostly positive...

Haven't even heard of it. Will look into it though.
The only game I am really fervently anticipating on the Wii is Muramasa: The Demon Blade. The more shit I see for that game, the more brutal and hardcore it looks.

Haven't heard of Demon Blade, I'll have to look at it. Only Wii games I am currently anticipating massively are Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Cursed Mountain, and TvC has no set release date. I'll probably pick up Wii Sports Resort though for the Wii Motion Plus, and Metroid Trilogy for the Fun Club points.

I bet they drop TvC around November (definitely this holiday season). That game is such a miracle, I still can't believe it. I was sooooooooo close to modding my wii and importing JUST for this game, I am eternally grateful to Capcom.
This is Muramasa for the uninitiated. It reminds me of killer action adventure titles you used to find on the Genesis, the 2D artwork is absolutely gorgeous.
It has similar visuals as the upcoming A Boy and His Blob game. I desperately want to see more games like this. Its very refreshing.

I owned Phantom Brave. Never once put it in my PS2 before selling it, however.

Phantom Brave is a lot of fun. It's no Disgaea, and has one of the most depressing beginning few hours (you get to watch a whole cast of recurring characters mistreat an innocent little girl out of greed, jealousy and fear for a few hours!) but if you're willing to put up with some sometimes frustrating design, It's a good game.

I once had a collection of about 650 games, and would buy them based on positive buzz and/or claims of their rarity. Kind of a stupid way to buy.
