I keep telling myself to never get a big thing of pop at a fast food joint, but everytime i'm at the counter i forget to say NO when they ask 'what would you like to drink'. I can drink pop straight from the can from a vending machine or a cup from a bottle you would get from the grociery store and no heart burn.

But every time i drink this 'stuff' from the fast food joint my esophagus feels like thousands of ants are eating away at the lining. I think it might have something to do with the combination of mixes in the dispensers. It would explain why the pop tastes differently too. I don't eat at a fast food place very often so must be my body isn't use to it. I only drank a quarter of a Dr. Pepper from Arbys and I'm paying for it now.

Haddox is going to hate what i'm about to say, but i say screw the soda and make sure to have a bottle of water with me next time.

I was curious if anyone else gets a bad case of heartburn from certain foods and drinks?

. . . now where did i put the tums? Razz

I used to get acid reflux pretty frequently after eating lunch in middle school.

I get a tight feeling in my chest after eating a little debbie cosmic brownie.

Reeper, is it the syrup that might be effecting you?

Soda never really bothers me, but anything with citrus usually does.

I don't want a large Farva, I want a goddamn liter of Cola.

Also, anyone who has worked in fast food or convenience stores never drinks from a soda fountain. Ever. Those things are rarely cleaned on the inside and the buildup of grody material is just insane. It may cause your discomfort but I don't think it's anything that could cause sickness.

It may give you superpowers though, because I am pretty sure some of that shit I have cleaned was glowing like Dr. Manhattan.

This man speaks the truth as I don't think ours has ever been cleaned. Then again, ours is rarely good for anything but an ice dispenser given how infrequently my box orders refills for it.

Yeah when I worked at such a place I was the only person other than the manager who cleaned it. I worked the busy shift, and the guys who worked the shift where they just had to sit there never cleaned a goddamn thing.

Back to topic, the only thing that seems to help my stomach is the Rolaids Soft Chews. Look into it. I dunno why they help better than the regular, maybe its a placebo effect, but I don't care. I hate eating those other chalky nasty bastards.

I'm not quite sure that it is the syrup, because it is nothing more then sugar and i have eatten some sugary stuff in the past.

But after what Josh and Lord posted, it makes me wonder what my superpowers are Wink I wonder if they will be like Prototype?

If it was fountain soda could have been mixed improperly too, due to the machine being low on syrup.

The only time I ever got heartburn was at a local Italian restaurant called Polcari's. I ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo, which is basically spicy shrimp in a spicy sauce served over linguine. In the menu, it said that it could be EXTRA spicy upon request. So I asked for it extra spicy. The waitress then informed that extra spicy Shrimp Fra Diavolo was one of the chef's absolute favorite things to make. So I got it, and it was fucking awesome. Every bite made my eyes water, to the point where everyone else at the table became concerned. Spanky and Jeebus tried to assure me that I didn't need to finish it, but I did. And my insides burned for about 5 hours thereafter. But it was totally worth it, and I'd order it again.

Stay the hell away from every fountain except one of those drive up places like sonic or A&W's, where they pride themselves on high quality soda and have standards for constant cleaning.

I've worked at a gas station, and I couldn't get the night people to clean the fuckers. Its so damn easy but they wouldn't bother, so the thing had a black scum that was just lacquered layers of bacteria and high energy syrup. It was the Damascus steel of congealed muck.

Hacker, what is Generals Chicken?

I hope you meant General Tso's Chicken, otherwise you may have been duped into eating old man testicles that once belonged to an old man who happened to be a General.

I get bad stomach trouble from bread. I once ate an entire loaf of bread one night, and I'm pretty sure I permanently blew out part of my colon.

My friend gets heartburn all the time after eating Taco Bell. The only way he can get it to go away is by basically assuming the "doggy style" position. It's the funniest thing ever because the pain is apparently so bad, he'll do it even if there are other people around.

I would think this is grounds to give up the Bell, but he's been hooked since high school.

No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.

Most fast food doesn't agree with me, but the only food that gives me guaranteed heart burn is Indian food.

Cereal with artificial vanilla flavoring (I think it's Special K brand). The cereal tastes pretty good IMO, but afterwards my chest feels like it's on fire! That's why I don't even eat the stuff anymore. The taste doesn't outweigh the bad in the long run.

I think it's odd because I can eat spicy food in Chinese, Mexican, or Italian food restaurants and I feel fine. However, that vanilla cereal kills me! Weird...

See those don't work for me at all, they're basically dry-ass candy.

I perfer Rolaids too because they had hawaiian punch flavor.

Dude, I get the same feeling!!!

It's not heartburn. Though I thought it was the same thing. It feels you'd feel a lot better if you just vomitted some of the food out (I know this because if I burped when this was going on I'd taste a little bit of the food coming back up).

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

OH YEAH! Donuts give me nasty heart burn also. It's a pity, because I still enjoy the taste of donuts especially with the sprinkles on them. I just don't eat them because I don't wanna get heart burn. Sad
