I wonder what was going through this police officer's head. Was he on drugs? Did someone he know just die? Or is he just such a Grinch that he can't understand human emotion during times of panic and distress?

This is your limit for the day. I know you're disappointed that no one agreed with you in the DUI checkpoint thread, but you can't spam the General forum with anti-law news stories to promote cynicism.

It isn't my fault that I keep seeing them pop up in the news. To balance it out I'll try to find one where a police man rescues a puppy, and I'll hold off on any others.

Just FYI, I didn't intentionally measure a similarity between the two posts. Now that you have drawn that comparison, my mind is filled with several points that I won't make as to save this thread from a downward spiral, though it may already be too late.

this is the same story i read about at Cracked, while i will agree with the officer that cussing won't get you far, he was clearly more in the wrong for not even listening to what the emergency is about. In the heat of the moment, who gives a fuck how curdious you are, if it's a life or death situation, we'll worry about that crap later.

you know what it is, i'm not familiar with the area but it seems like a suburban town, the worst that could happen is someone's cat is stuck in the tree. The cop obvious has it too good in the neighborhood and expects this Utopian society to stay clean and perfect. He wouldn't last five minutes in the hard streets for New York or LA and now he is burned for life to be the cop that was a dick to the panicking 9-1-1 caller.

From what I hear, there are plenty of fucked up people no matter where you go. No doubt that dispatch is quieter in a smaller town, but it is still 911... They still get every emergency dialed in. They need to know this shit no matter how big the town is.

I've seen this before, I thought I saw it here. That is fucking ridiculous though.

The cop in question was disciplined from what I remember, given desk duty and docked some pay I think.

Just because this cop is a grade A dumbass, doesn't mean they all are though.
