Any reviews on Tales of Monkey Island? I gotta say I'm tempted, but if there's any Monkey Kombat in it I think I might just shoot myself.

No sign of Monkey Kombat in the first episode, and I find it highly unlikely that they'll put it in later on either. There are, however, a couple of instances of a jungle maze puzzle not unlike the ones in Secret of Monkey Island and LeChuck's Revenge, but that's nowhere near as irritating as Monkey Kombat.
It's amazing how many of life's problems are solved by indiscriminate cannon fire.

Monkey Kombat isn't the only stupid puzzle in MI4...remember that stupid slot machine style puzzle in the prosthetic shop?
MI2 was my favorite.

Ah yes, the one where the solution is randomized every time. Yeah, that's pretty stupid but at least it kind of qualifies as a puzzle. Monkey Kombat is just stupid.

I'm giving it a shot as soon as possible. After all, the irritating "oop-chee-ack" combinations aren't enough to ruin classics like "i got this scar during a mighty struggle"-

The Mysts of Thyme.
Though that one was kind of cool, just kind of irritating when you need to check the map all the time.
