"Hard" bosses or games that you believe are easy

You know, those games that everybody seems to have trouble with, that you can clear quite easily?
One of them, for me, would be Mega Man 9. Many people think it's really hard, but I think it's much easier than Mega Man 1-6. Maybe that's because I play them with a keyboard, but still.

As for bosses, I'd say Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time. Not because people think he's hard, but as badass as he looks, there are so many weird ways to beat him.
There's the famous empty bottle trick, he's beatable while wearing the iron boots, and one guy managed to beat him even though he's blind.

Also, if you know anything about the Touhou games, you might know some people consider they contain "the hardest bosses ever".
Well, that's complete fucking bullshit. It took me TWO tries to clear the Phantasm stage in Perfect Cherry Blossom,
even though I sucked ass at the stage and the beginning of the boss and lost like 12 bombs by dying with them.
And I STILL had enough lives left to screw around with the last spellcards and fail at them miserably.

Here's a screenshot if you have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about :

EDIT : It's way too fucking huge, so here's a link instead :

For some reason, the internet lists Bongo Bongo as "The hardest OoT boss, and possibly the hardest boss of any Zelda." But he's really easy.

I think you all know my position on the first NES Ninja Turtles game.

Plus, I've never lost to Warmech in Final Fantasy.

A lot of people find Contra hard for some reason.

I would have to say that the water temple boss is the hardest

i think IG-88 on Shadows of the Empire was harder than any of the OoT bosses, but thats just me.

Zelda II on the NES had harder bosses as well, but that game was also harder in general.

my buddy had a tough time beating the plant boss in Metroid Prime, but i found him relatively easy as well.

For some reason I remember a Gamepro article way back when advising you to be prepared to use lots of energy packs on Sigma and his dog in Mega Man X. I rarely took damage in beating his ass, no Hadouken required.

Shadows of the Empire had some pretty annoying bosses. In addition to IG-88, there was Boba Fett with Slave 1, that giant Dianoga monster in the sewers and the Gladiator Droid you had to kill three times.

Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox isn't anywhere near as hard as some people say ("Waaah! It's too hard! It's impossible! Why are there no quick time events like in God of War? Must I beat this boss with skill instead of reaction-based minigames?"), it's definitely challenging but it's never unfairly difficult like some games. I've beaten Ninja Gaiden on normal twice, on the second run I didn't even die a single time. Of course, Hard and Very Hard (as well as Ninja Gaiden Black, apparently) are tougher, but whether you succeed is still down to playing skills just like it should be.

I'm not sure if this counts, but Yoshi's target smashing level from Super Smash Bros. on the N64 was listed as one of the hardest tasks in an episode of Nintendo Power, yet I can do that with relative ease.

Great post here, I forgot how much of a severe asshole IG-88 was, the suspense and drama in that battle actually kinda scared me when I was younger, he fucking stalked you!

Also, Zelda II definitely has the most difficult bosses (and enemies in general) out of all the Zelda games.

Well... I don't think he is easy, in fact I can't beat him.

The final boss in Prince of Persia: Rival Swords for Wii. It requires you to shake the Wiimote at specific times. If it were a button press, I'd be fine, but I just can't shake my wrists in the tenth of a second time frame they offer.

I think the crappy controls in SotE were what made that game much harder than it needed to be. Jumping on that stupid train level cost me at least one controller... I completely forgot about IG-88 though. A little ironic that a tough boss like that looked like a techno-tampon.

not only was IG-88 annoying, but trying to get the Rebel emblems while trying to fight him at the same time was irritating.

Zeromus in Final Fantasy IV. And he was the hardest final boss I encountered so far.

I dunno if this counts, but the Battle of Bruma (one of Oblivion's big, climactic battles) has been touted as super difficult everywhere I read, but I ended up being disappointed by how easy and anticlimactic it actually was.

Yea Contra IV is pretty tough IMO. If you turn the difficulty up to hard, just forget about it.

I agree with the Battle of Bruma, another thing with me is Sephiroth and the Ice Titan in Kingdom Hearts, both of which was rated in the strategy guide as "insanely difficult." Another one for me is Airman in Megaman 2, I never did figure out why the guy in the song couldn't defeat him (Airman ga Taosenai, awesome song)

In Rockman 2 the difficulty is significantly higher and Airman's random patterns deal a lot of damage. The song is justified, but many people ask that question thinking the difficulty for Mega Man 2 is the same as Rockman 2. I just found that out recently myself.

I'm not sure to be honest with you. I just remember reading that on one of the videos for the song. Supposedly they toned down the difficulty upon the US release. I don't know how hard the game was before hand but supposedly it was even worse then the Difficult option we're used to. That's only what I've heard though. Doesn't sound that impossible, but I could be wrong.

EDIT: Well this is confusing. Supposedly "Difficult" was the only difficulty setting in Rockman 2. I'm getting different stories based upon where I look. Confusing. Confused

Zelda II bosses aren't so bad, it's the getting to them that's hard. I mean, for one boss all you do is cast a spell and kneel. Doesn't get much easier than that. :p
