There are quite a few good ones-- The A-Team springs immediately to mind, but in terms of the ALL-TIME best...I would have to pick Thundercats:
The strength and power of Lion-O's voice just makes it.
EDIT to add something I found while bumming around youtube, an orchestrated medley of Thundercats music (most of the heroes' personal themes, etc.) If you know the show well enough to recognize them, its fucking awesome, and frankly the music is pretty nice even if you don't.
The theme song itself is especially nice. I would hope that if (WHEN goddammit, WHEN) a live-action movie finally comes out, they use something akin to it as the soundtrack. (The guy who did this also has a Transformers and He-Man done the same way. Awesome.)
On a completely unrelated note, is it a sign of weakness to tear up while listening to orchestrated versions of 80s-cartoon theme songs?
The Angel theme song:
Darling Violetta "The Sanctuary"
Great call. Still doesn't beat Thundercats for me, but an awesome choice. The visuals they picked to go with it are quite good too. (I liked it best towards the end of the series, when then included ample shots of Wesley at his asskicking best.)

The theme from M*A*S*H,
It may only be instruments, but if you've seen the original movie, you find out that the mellow and sometimes lifting intro is a remix of a person singing about suicide. I just like the irony in that most people who saw the show were clueless to the original lyrics.
Also the classic Disney cartoon themes:
And some that are down right retard and awesome at the same time:
And of course, those themes that refuse to leave my brain:
And this one as well, you can't tell me this shit didn't get you pumped when you were a kid.
Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.

Damnit Knyte, I was just thinking about posting The Young Ones theme.

I'll agree with the X-Men choice. Batman, though....it's a GOOD song, but imho it's not *great*. The animation is what really sells that opening sequence to me, not the music.

I always get pumped when I hear the A-Team theme.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete
And of course... Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!
I couldn't find the Bonanza opening anywhere, as a note.

Hell yes. No lyrics of course, but it does have that fantastic intro...say it with me now...
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade into the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help...and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-Team. (And yes, that was all from memory. How sad is that.)
God I love that show. My favorite part of that whole intro, incidentally, is that they didn't just escape from a maximum security military prison, they PROMPTLY escaped. I love that.
EDIT to avoid double post. How in the blue hell did I forget this:

I just got hit with some huge nostalgia when I read this thread.
Perfect Strangers, Fresh Prince, Doug, Are You Afraid of the Dark...man, how I wish I was 7-8 again.
EDIT: How could we possibly forget this??

Can't find it on YouTube, but the Greg The Bunny theme was pretty awesome.
