New York and New Jersey being so low is surprising, especially since Delaware is so high compared to its neighbors.

Alaska is a little surprising also; I would expect them to be higher, like Russia, since it's so cold and there's not much else to do.

I wish they had that chart for Canada, I think Nova Scotia and Newfoundland would be neck and neck.

I'm surprised we're not number one. We have (yes, for real, and I can't explain it) drive through fucking daiquiris. You can also go to a cigarette store drive thru and yes... get drive thru beer.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Yes, before you get behind the wheel of a vehicle, make sure every tissue in your body is soaked in fine, casket-aged Dewar's brand scotch. Dewar's brand scotch BEFORE you drive!

Damn! I moved from a 40+(Louisiana) to a 25 or less(North Carolina). Looks I need to pull up the slack this state is slacking on...

I'm shocked by Alaska. The amount of drinking I saw there honestly makes me wonder if this is either eronious, or if its based on what people reported, and those people lied.

I think the info is probably based on sales volume.

Wow, I honestly thought Tennessee would have a lot more.

OH, that explains it. Self-made alcohol is quite big there, which would explain the disparity.

It only covers beer, too. So maybe hard liquor makes up for the difference also.

This map includes all alcohol consumption and some interesting statistics for each state as well:

Wow, we have more breweries than any other state, and we are only in the middle on consumption. Apparently we make it, and the rest of you drink it.

Actually, I'm IN Louisiana, and it's not quite a 40+. Shocking, again, given drive thru daiquiris and shit.

So apparently even though we are in the middle for most categories, we New Englander's like to crash cars into stuff. Maybe it is because there is stuff to crash into and not just miles and miles of road.

Oh yeah, hi and welcome back.

I cannot believe NY is so low, they must only really rage it in NYC and the rest of the state must be generally dry/lame.

What the hell is up with Montana? That is like the worst state for drinking in both maps. That would not have been in my top 10 heaviest drinking states if I had to guess.
