After the Geek Argument articles, i started to look up the doctor who series . . . or should i say saga:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Doctor_Who_serials
With 753 episodes

, where does someone begin when wanting to check such a LONG running series out. I mean i thought the Simpsons had a long run but 26 season + 4 addition series and a ass-ton of specials and movies, honestly where can a noobie to this series being?
Should i go with the first era with William Hartnell from the 1964, the Tom Baker era since he is the most recognized as Doctor Who or with the latest era with David Tennant (whose run is also coming to an end.)
Keep in mind, with the advent of the Doctor Who Character be a 'Time Lord', there have been 10 (soon 11) incarnations of this character, all who patray the Doctor differently.
Logically if one is to watch a series they should watch it from the beginning. But with 753 episodes, say each is 25 minutes (hypothetically), that come out to 18,825, which translates to 31.75 hours, which is ~1 3/4 days straight. And i left out the fact that later episodes are 45 minutes long and the many movies attached to the saga.
So, any suggestions to where an aspiring Doctor Who watcher would start? Any doctor who fans who would like to pitch their favorite Doc?
