So he really did have a hand in Sonic 3's music. I heard that somewhere before a few years ago but I thought they were joking. That's really amazing. The tribute was really well done. |
...Yeah, it's been floating around/talked about for a long time--According to the 'rumor,', M.J. had had a hand in the game's Soundtrack, but when those original (1993) allegations of Child Molestation came out, Sega distanced themselves from him. Some of the tracks on the game are more indicative of his involvement (Or at least Sega's sampling of his music) than others, such as:
Ice Cap Zone (Act 1): If you listen closely, a part of the song is a sped-up version of the melody from "Smooth Criminal." Act 2 has a slowed-down version. I've also been hearing that there is a remix (Or remix
es) of Ice Cap Zone on ocremix where you can hear the "Smooth Criminal" sample more clearly, but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyway, back to the music: Mini-Boss Theme: That voice saying "Come on!" sounds a little like Mike's voice. Same thing with the voice saying "Go!" on the Launch Base Zone track (Not to mention, the track itself sounds like something Mike would've had on his
Dangerous album)...
