I'm starting to lose interest in music-simulation games in general lately. I've heard good things about GH: Metallica, but I've yet to try it (I should sometime). I prefer having variety in GH or RB games as opposed to having about 90% of the soundtrack having songs from the same artist. The music gets old after a while! I know this because of GH: Aerosmith.

If they do a GH: Michael Angelo Batio, I'm not even gonna try.

I personally think that the hardest songs are ones that have fast paced multiple finger positioned riffs (power chords). Solos are easier because they usually require one button at a time and progressively move making them somewhat easier to play.
So for me, Green Day seems like it might be harder than Van Halen.

That sounds about right. Dookie, Insomniac, & Nimrod were great albums. The rest I don't care for.

But power chords tend not to change too quickly, they're just played somewhat quickly sometimes. A solo is fast-paced while changing notes a majority of the time.

The notes may not change quickly but in a video game button pressing for timing is not forgiving. I found the speed at which you must play the non-solo parts of Guitar Hero Metallica makes it very challenging. Also the mix of lead and rhythm guitar makes for a confusing transition frequently in guitar games.

I can see that for Metallica, but Green Day? Anyone who has that much trouble with Green Day's music, short of some extraordinary rearranging, had better just set it down and find a new hobby. I understand where you're coming from in terms of the controller response though.

If I were Nintendo I would get a patent on that controller ASAP and make this a Wii exclusive game.

It appears you have trouble with English. As a result, I won't destroy you for referring to them as Jimmy Hendrix and ZZ Tops.

You know what is really funny about Green Day? Any time I have seen them perform live on TV or something, I always see the main band out front of course, but in the background there is ALWAYS a second rythm guitarist and a guy to play the few lead licks they have, and even a guy without an instrument, standing there with his arms crossed singing backup.
It's like they realize how bad they are live and they need a few extra people to make it sound like the record.
This isn't rare by any means for artists to do, expand their sound for a live audience you know. But it's just laughable to see people playing in the background like we can't see them or tell that Billy Joe just let's his guitar hang there half the time without touching it. Who is playing the chords??!! What the fuck!!??
What is sad is that they almost definitely have session musicians sit in on their recording sessions, as credits list 3 or 4 different people playing guitar, and an extra bassist. Why aren't they on the CD cover? Goddamn, Green Day.

The only time I've noticed that was when they were on Conan a couple weeks back, and had an extra guitarist - he was out in front with the rest of them though.
I've only seen them live once or twice anyway, I think. But that is odd, especially since they're often criticized for using simple chords or whatever in their songs.

On Warrant's first couple tours, Joey Allen would always play "Sometimes She Cries" with his back to the audience, because he couldn't play the solos well. So some guy offstage would play it. The song was credited to the band, but supposedly Joey's high school guitar teacher wrote the guitar part and played it on the album.
