I have had this song stuck in my head all night and I can't for the life of me remember what game it is from...I know it's something really obvious and I'm going to kick myself, but I just can't place it. I've tabbed it out roughly, can someone with a guitar and a better memory help me out here?

If you can hum it into a microphone and record the sound then those of us who don't play instruments can understand what that will sound like.

Or play it on a guitar and then record that.

I've ran it through my keyboard a few times and it sounds familiar however I can't seem to place it.

If you take away the C note before the D at the end of the first part it sounds almost exactly like it came out of some cartoon just like monachetti said. It's that extra C that throws me for a loop.

The first thing that came into my mind when I played it was a Doom II level theme.
If I'm not mistaken, the Refueling Base, to be more precise.
I don't think it is the tune, though.

Oh. Well if it is that one (I can't read music), it's been used in a ton of cartoons from the Loony Tunes era. I think maybe Who Framed Roger Rabbit too, but I could be imagining that.

When I played that part a bit slow on my guitar, it kind of reminded me of the fortress theme from Super Mario Bros. 3.

Yes, that's it! Thank you! There is also the possibility that it is not in a video game at all and I'm remembering it from a cartoon, it seems like it was in a game though.

BINGO! I did a little research (okay, three hours of Googling instead of studying for tomorrow's Arabic test), but I finally found what song it was, who wrote it, and where you know it from. Bow before the power of She Who Has No Life:

So to answer sort of, it was used in a ton of Loony Tunes cartoons (it was the theme they used in "assembly line" montages I guess. Wiki and Google don't say it was ever used in a game, but its such a popular piece its certainly plausible that it was at some point. I'd wager you're remembering it from the cartoons though.

Mother....fucker. Oh well. Looks like my l33t detective skillz aren't quite as incredible as I thought. Laughing Guess it serves me right for not paying better attention. I did actually skim the description, but somehow missed that the song was actually *called* "Powerhouse." I spent forever googling various iterations of 'Raymond Scott and' to figure out what it was. *siiiiiiigh*.

In my defense, we are *all* prone to the occasional bout of M3gahackeritis. Hopefully mine clears up soon. Rolling Eyes
