I would post a link, but you know damn well how to get to penny arcade, or at least how to use a search engine.
Gist is, penny arcade has three experimental comics up and you get to vote for one to be continued, with the others appearing again in another time and place in the far future.
I mention this to make a point. Penny arcade's content of jokes about videogames has gotten very old to me. I mean, its all very tired now, with loquatious threats of cosmic horror, random violence gags, and like a joke about how a videogame does silly things or somesuch. In contrast lookouts seemed fresh and intruiging, Jim Darkmagic might be enjoyable in a Rune Soldier Louie sort of way, and well Automata, you can guess how I feel about Automata.
In a nutshell, it seems to me that it would be better from an artistic standpoint to cut the penny arcade Gabe and Tycho aspect down to once a week and focus on things that aren't so worn down with the weight of years and imitators.

I still like Penny Arcade.
Automata was the one that looked the most interesting. I get the feeling they may branch out into more than one of those, however.

I used to read Penny Arcade, CAD, and whatever the hell that one with the Final Fantasy sprites was called. The sprite one ended, CAD got fucking stupid, and Penny Arcade just felt like a retread after a while.

I'm actually having a bit of an idiot moment. Bob and George (a Mega Man sprite comic) ended. I just stopped following 8 Bit Theater.
Automata looks interesting. Kind of like a darker version of Asimov's R. Daneel Ovilaw stories.

Looks like Automata is going to win. YES HAHAHAA! Noir machines 1, boy scouts and goofy wizards 0. I was not expecting this, but am very happy with the result.

I thought the fantasy nerds would put Lookouts ahead of anything. Automata looks to be the most interesting of them all, and glad to see it won. Do you know if it's going to be its own long-running comic, or are they just going to make it into a short series like their "PA presents..." projects? I get too bored by Tycho's obnoxious news blog writing style that I can't really tell. It's mainly that I've been looking for a comic with a storyline that isn't totally ass (Gunnerkrigg Court being the only one I like).

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

I always enjoy when PA does anything continuous. Unlike most webcomics they have the chops to pull it off so i'm excited.

Dammit theres a round two, and the Jim Darkmagic fiends might turn to voting for children earning merit badges for setting up manticore proof camps or somesuch.
My favorite continuous webcomic is erfworld, the battle for gobwin knob. Its tabletop stratagy element might not appeal to everybody though.
