I don't have cable in my room. This is directly resultant of the fact that I don't have a cable jack in my room.
It is possible to split cable jack and hook two TVs up to it, or a TV and a cable modem, which led me to wonder if wireless cable splitters exist.
Does anyone know?

Well, I'm not really sure what you want to find exactly, but I know all TVs here, including the ones upstairs, have access to cable, so I searched a bit about how that works.
I looked in my room, but I have no idea how it works exactly. I don't think I have a cable jack or that we have some wireless stuff, but I can't find the connection.
I found them for my sisters' rooms though. It's some really long cables fastened to the walls and the back of the stairs so they don't get in the way (there are none for my room though...).
It's a pain to install, but otherwise it's not too bothersome.
I can't really look more than that, though. There are way too much wires for me to take the time to find out which does what (to give you an idea, I counted 8 computers).

You can get a Y splitter and just split the line from the wall jack, and run a cord to your room. It doesn't matter if it is from the jack going to your cable box or modem, since it is the same feed. Now if you do get split the line that goes to the cable modem, make sure you run the line TO the cable model of the port label 3.5db and not the 7db line, otherwise you will get a performance hit on the modem.
Just get something like this, which you should be able to buy in any Best Buy, Radio Shack, or anywhere else that sell Home Audio/Video cables and supplies.

I know that this is physically possible and the easiest option. But I cannot do this. It will look like ass having a cord running halfway across the upstairs hall and it will also prevent two doors from shutting properly. Hence, I asked for a wireless alternative.
I need an apparatus that comes in two separate piece, one that I can plug into a split cable jack in another room and one that I can plug into the back of my TV. Whether or not such a thing actually exists is beyond me. Maybe it doesn't. But that is what I need.

I seem to remember a friend having a thing that had these little cone-shaped glass transmitter things and he used it to have cable on two tvs. But the catch was that you couldn't change the channel on the 2nd tv, nor could the first tv be off if you wanted to watch the 2nd one.

Necessity is the mother of invention. That, and Frank Zappa.

Would I trust it? No. Would I use it? No. Does it exist? Yes. |
Why does it look like it is in a Motorola Surfboard Cable Modem case?

So I'm not crazy. I totally thought that too. I think those things are starting to fall out of favor now that Modem + Router units and VOIP units are becoming the norm. The plastics were probably recycled and purchased very cheap.

*Looks at cable modem*
Yup, definitely a huge resemblance.
Syd, you could try screwing around with a SlingBox or something, and just hook a computer into the TV.
