The second. You should only have one break between the ending quote tag and your reply. It doesn't look as neat while you're typing it, because it'll be bunched together, but it'll come out looking sparkling (relative to the interpretation of the words placed underneath).
The previewed post itself should have one line of spacing between itself and the quote above.

Yeah, it's never looked right to me. I still do it now though, as Syd tends to Hulk out occasionally over it.
