Pretty self explanatory, which would you prefer happen to your body after you pass, and why? I have always been a cremation fan (there's a good quote) and figured it simpler to have my body burned. I just don't like the idea of taking up space underground.

Discuss.

Cremated, so if I come back from the dead I'll be an ash monster, rather than a generic zombie or skeleton.

I want to be cremated and have my ashes placed in the St. Lawrence River with my grandfather.

I hate graveyards and think they're a waste of space, so burial would be out of the question anyway.

I'd like to be cremated and poured into a Sega Genesis.

Neither. Put me in a crypt. That way when the zombie apocalypse comes, my escape from the grave will be quite easy.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us.

Buried, no question. I prefer the pomp and circumstance that comes with a proper burial. If possible, I'd like my own pyramid.

Otherwise, I'd like a glass coffin and my own national monument, complete with a gift shop. If it was good enough for Vladmir Lenin, it's good enough for me!

What would be sold in your gift shop, besides Wii accessories?

I'm hoping for handbooks on cyber-eroticism and crazy glue that only works for a few weeks before it gives out.

Just have them install a toilet, and you'll be fine.

I want to be thrown out of a helicopter over New York. If I land on anyone, that person will get everything in my wallet.

I've always said that I wanted to be buried with a pencil in one hand, and my guitar in the other, and I mean that. Plus I wanna wreak havoc if there's a zombie apocalypse!

I have this thing about being eaten by worms and whatnot when I'm dead, so I lean towards cremation. On the other hand, I'd like to leave my body behind in one piece so if they could put me in a pressurized capsule encased in cement or something...

problem is with or without air your body is still fucked

their is actually bacteria that thrives in an airless enviroment, so people who get vaults over their coffins are still going to rot, just in a different way.

Protective seal caskets won't protect you. Anaerobic bacteria in your body- which thrive in the airless atmosphere of a sealed casket- cause you to rapidly bloat and liquefy inside your container before it bursts. Concrete vaults are not hermetically sealed, and 80% of them fill up with water. Due to the fact that tombs and caskets leak over time, the grounds of most cemeteries are polluted with chemicals such as formaldehyde and arsenic from older grave sites.

Cryostasis is the way to go if you truly want to be preserved. Its just going to cost millions to keep you going for a long period of time.

as for cremation

My buddy's grandpa is an old jazz drummer named Johnny Wray. One night he showed me his ashes, and yeah, it's a bunch of bone chunks.

I believe I've already touched upon this subject.

I want to be taken to Maui and shot out of a cannon into the sea. I'd be put in the cannon face down and head first, with my feet tied to a big cinder block. That way when they shoot me out and the brick makes its arc down and into the water, I'm facing the shore as I go through the air. My arms would not be secured, so it would appear that I am wildly waving goodbye to whoever shows up for it.

Then the fish can eat me and my skeleton can become some kind of local tall tale about being a pirate that was put to death by drowning or something. Nod

Same

But if it happens that I am to poor to afford one then I want a cellphone with a 3 day plan activated in my day of burial. If the cellphone thing can't happen then I want a syringe of poison next to me

Well, cremated for starters, because a) the idea of premature burial/embalming terrifies me (read too much fucking Poe and King), and I'd rather not sit around in the ground decomposing. If I must be buried though, I'd want to be out of a coffin and directly in the ground so at least it would provide some nutrients and stuff to the soil. *shrug* Although, if I end up qualifying for a military funeral and they don't accept cremation (although I assume they do, after the ceremony), that would be worth it to me.

I dunno where I'd want my ashes spread. If money was no object, I'd want to be shot into space--not one of the Earth Orbit ones, but the ones that eventually leave the solar system and go on forever. (Or at least until they hit a black hole/alien/whatever.) Otherwise, just spread somewhere with lots of trees and grass would be ok.

Cremated, then I want all my friends to put my ashes in two blunts, and I want to be smoked over Lake Michigan.
