You people care about whatever MTV has to say about anything, let alone films? Come on... MTV has as much credibility as a cat physician. Of course, in order to please the mentally-tweenaged fangirls that occasionally tune on the channel they had Twillight sweep the prizes, as in a desperate attempt to sound hip and cool. And it's not working.

I loved both iron man and Dark knight and though I consider Dark Knight better I found iron man to have better replay value at least immediate replay value

Personally I liked Iron Man more. I'm not really a comic buff or anything, I just found Iron Man to be easier to watch. Tropic Thunder surprised me as well, it was very funny (even Jack Black had a few good lines).

I think Dark Knight is the better movie of the two, but it is also a very dark and depressing film. I have to be in a certain mindset to enjoy watching a movie like that. Iron Man on the other hand is a well written action film that is fun for me to watch no matter what kind of mood I'm in.

Agreed. In addition to that, I could watch Robert Downy all day long, and not be bored. Christian Bale starts to wear very thin very fast, especially when he's doing that ridiculous Batman voice. This is not to say he's not the best movie Batman there is, though, because he is. And I really did like the movie, but I enjoyed Iron Man a whole lot more.

I think it's more character bias than anything, as I like Iron Man more than Batman.
And it's Tony Stark. Built in a cave. With a box of scraps.

for some reason I know a ton of "women", not girls, who are obsessed with Twilight. Its like this generations Dirty Dancing.
Also that Cullen guy is likeable over someone like Leo so the Twilight shit doesn't annoy me

I didn't even know anything about the success of Twilight at the MTV Awards until seeing this article... and I'm actually proud of that. Fuck MTV, and modern pop culture on top of that.

People complain about Twilight winning the MTV Movie Awards as opposed to Iron Man or Dark Knight for the same reason Eddie Trunk complains about hacks like Bobby Womack and The Ronnettes making it in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame as opposed to bands like Deep Purple and Kiss. Both the MTVMA's and the R&RHOF are American institutions recognized with credibility by the unquestioning American people as opposed to demolished burnings with the people in charge nailed to burning pentagrams with their balls in their mouth as a warning to all cultural blasphemers.
And as long as I'm channeling Bill Maher, New Rule: Stop complaining about Christian Bale's Batman voice. It's what prevents the people of Gotham from going "you know, the Batman fellow sounds like Bruce Wayne."

Well, yeah, but Kevin Conroy can do it without sounding like he has throat cancer. In spite of the "New Rule", here's an Old Fact: Christian Bale needs to work on the voice.

His "I'm big gruff John Connor" voice would've been fine for Batman. It was just way too fucking overblown.

I like that scene! And not only does his Batman voice prevent people from saying "Hey, aren't you Bruce Wayne?", it makes him come across as more intimidating...at least in scenes like this where he doesn't have to stop to breath loudly every 3 words.

I guess you still didn't understand it since he says "I'm not wearing hockey PADS"
I didn't realize he said that for sure until I used subtitles on the DVD for The Dark Knight.

Ok, here once again i think is my feelings on the batman voice. Yeah it is a little over the top and unnecessary in places (morgan freeman etc) but i believe the goal is to make it over the top and not realistic because Bruce Wayne doesn't A) want people to think he sounds B) want the criminals of gotham to think he is ONLY a guy in a suit, maybe he is a monster a half man/ half bat. And I think the voice accomplishes that.

It definitely accomplishes what you say but it's sure as hell still funny.

Honestly, I had a harder time understand the other guy instead of Batman watching that scene.
And Batman has a suit made of steel as opposed to tights is so it will protect him from bullets. Same reason why he had the tumbler instead of a slick car. He's fighting a war against crime so he needs the proper materials.
