Whenever I close FireFox it forgets my browsing history. It also seems to keep defaulting to the Tools/Options/Privacy setting to always clear private data when FireFox gets closed. Does anybody know a fix for this? Even when I un-check the box to clear private data it still goes back to being checked the next time I use FireFox.

Mine has a similar problem, I never really gave it much thought though. Does the start-up page default as well?

No, my home page is still the same and it saves my passwords and cookies it just clears my history/address bar stuff. The thing that is pissing me of is that the "Clear private data when Firefox is closed" thing keeps defaulting to be checked/on.

Yeah, my computer does something like that. Every time I shut it off it defaults to not showing the little mute on/mute off icon, so I have to go into the control panel every time I want to mute the thing. My little anecdote clearly has nothing to do with your internet problems, but I felt like sharing.

Well it had to do with Norton 360, which was pre-installed on this laptop. I got it fixed now. Here is the fix:

Right click Norton 360 in your system tray:

Choose the option to open the main Window for Norton 360

Click the settings option, then in the quick controls side-menu un-check Firefox Privacy Cleanup

P.S. Fuck Norton...they try to implement a security feature that just ends up pissing me off.
