So, recently I obtained a Maganovox Odyssey-2, that may or may not work. Since it is so old, it does not use A/V cables for its input. Instead, it is designed to plug into the antenna input on a TV and broadcast on channel 3 or 4. Unfortunately, the TV I have is newish, and does not have an antenna input. It has a cable jack that can double as an antenna jack for newer antennas.
According to Wikipedia, the O2's input is called an RF modulator, though I'm not sure what that means. Does anyone know what equipment I need to make this device work with my current TV, and where I can obtain it? I bet Knyte does. I think the NES came with the necessary hardware, but I have long since lost it.

I don't know where you can get one, but my 2600 is antenna-only, but I have a small switchbox that converts antenna into RF, so I can plug it into my cable. I'm certain you can find one, though I don't know where exactly.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Yep, what jackfrost posted is exactly what you need. That's what I have so I can still use my Intellivision.
FYI: This is an RF Modulator:

OK, question. The thing JF linked me to (which I ordered) is just a converter that makes it so the gaming system can plug into a cable jack instead of an antenna jack. Once I get it, and connect it, where the game system broadcast? On channel 3? On input? On every channel?
Also, the way the Odyssey-2 is designed, I have no way of knowing if the system works until I can fully connect it. It has no LED lights whatsoever to indicate it is on and working.

Usually it's channel 3 if there is no selector switch on the device. Most devices that used the RFMs had a switch on them where you could select either channel 3 or 4. If they didn't, I believe default is 3.

Got this in the mail today. It worked, and so does the Odyssey-2! I was really concerned the system was broken. I had plugged it in and turned the power on prior to being able to have the system output properly and I noticed two things:
1) The system made no sounds at all.
2) As previous mentioned, there are no LED lights on it.
So no lights, no whirring sounds. Never a good sign. But it works. Hooray.

I'm still waiting on my Model 1 Genesis. I already have a Model 2, but the Model 1's just look so much cooler.
