I still have this game. I absolutely hated that electric seaweed section.

Next up is doing it without save states. I can always get to the last stage without any issues but I always get fucked up by the Technodrome and quit.

Just make as much use of each turtle as possible and you'll be fine.

I'm sorry, but am I one of the few who didn't have a problem with the damn dam level?

I've never had a problem with the dam stage. You take damage from the electric seaweed no matter what... I actually find that area with the squishy spikes a lot harder... oh and the hallway of hell in the technodrome too... The dam stage is nothing compared to later stages.

Okay, I'll admit that's a trouble spot, but it's nothing anyone can't handle with effort and perseverance.

Yeah I agree, I really never had trouble with the Dam. Well I did before I memorized where the bombs are the route you need, but once that was done it was easy enough. A PITA to be sure, but not difficult per se. *shrug*

And lmao at the Ebert bit. God, between him not being able to talk anymore and Siskel being gone, TV movie reviews just aren't the same. Sad At least he still writes.

Oh yeah. He's had a couple of battles with cancer, one of 'em was in his salivatory gland. That caused problems, and then he had something happen to his carotid artery, and they had to do a tracheotomy (this was in like 2005/6ish). One of the side effects of all that radiation/cutting/poking/etc around in his neck is he permanently lost his voice. (At least its been quite a few years--I don't think its something that's fixable or that might correct itself.) He still writes for the paper and online, and writes daily blog entries though, so he's doing alright. He just can't do his TV show anymore.

Yes I used save states and yes I fucking flipped out like 17 times during that 2 hours of hell.

Congrats. As we all know, the game is no small feat to beat, with or without Save States. I can make it to Stage/Level 5 on the NES, but that's it. The Technodrome is damn near impossible without some kind of 'assistance...'

Was I supposed to put something here?
