In response to the announcement of Super Mario Galaxy 2, and hopefully a plethora of new suits to come, I was wondering, what's your favorite form for Mario in his rich history? Personally, I enjoy the Cape from SMW, there are few things I enjoy more then flying short distances using the earthquake move

I'm not especially well-versed when it comes to Mario knowledge however when I was a kid I always loved getting the Hammer suit (or whatever it's called) on SMB3.

Everybody loved the hammer suit, probably cause nobody could ever get the bugger. Its not all that great, really. Same with the tanuki suit, which was basically the racoon suit with a useless statue form. Its all about the cape.

Nothing beats anything that makes Mario fly, so I go with the Raccoon Tail, the Super Mario Cape and the Flying Cap on SM64.

I gotta say, the flying cap always gave me trouble, so I actually ended up liking Metal Mario the most in that game.

Cape is fun, but I still have a soft spot for the simple but effective Racoon suit from SMB3. That little "whoop-whoop" noise it makes as you fly still makes me a happy person. Smile

Tanuki suit is better than the racoon suit because you could use the statue form to crush otherwise indestructible things like the moving candle flames and those rotating light orbs in castles.

Considering he's been a frog, a raccoon, a tanuki, and a rabbit (no one mentioned the Game Boy Games), I think it's safe to say Mario's a furry.

Kuribo Shoes FTW.
Honorable mention for the wing power-up in SMB3 that let us fly anytime we want, without ever stopping. Talk about a useful item.

Tanuki Suit, if for no reason other than trying to turn him grey with the glitch.

Thats why he hasn't made a move on peach, he's just waiting to get her in a fox suit.

Shocked Why did I never know that?! Sad

While we're at it, can anyone think of a WORSE suit than the Spring Suit?

Also, honorable mention to awesome suit should go to the Ice Flower.

Hammer suit? What use do you have from that other than a quick ride on the track of easiness and careful guarding to avoid damage?

Frog Mario sucks, just makes the controller manipulation easier. Raccoon Mario was the best. I mean, where did anyone use Tanooki (sp?) as a needed power for the game?

Even neutral mario was better than this "powerup".

The spring suit felt like it was a physics demo. It was interesting, just not as a part of a Mario game.

I don't have a favorite, but the most common one I wear is the piranha plant suit. Those fucking things eat me all the time.

My favorite was actually Mario with the cape in Super Mario World for the SNES.

I like Mega Mario from the New Super Mario Bros. game on the DS.

Mega Mario is a glorified Invincibility Star. I did like that he could kick over the flagpole for a 3UP though.

Mini Mario I liked though. That added some challenge to the game.
