I don't know whether to wig out, feel fear or both. I'm glad i never seen this movie, it give cartoons/live actions genres a bad name.

No, at least WFRR had a coherent plot.

Uh, no.

Cool World was supposed to be an animated horror movie in it's beginnings, but then it degenerated into basically a Kim Basinger starring vehicle with a plot looser than stools in a colostomy bag, Brad Pitt's first big starring role, and probably the funniest part of the movie was the camera popping out of a cartoon's asshole.

Seriously, this movie is more disjointed than a triple-jointed contortionist after a hideously brutal car wreck. The plot makes no fucking sense (cartoon wants to sleep with human so she can become real and then destroy the world???) and the only real saving grace to this movie is the brick to your genitals you're sure to subject yourself to after viewing it, in hopes that you'll never reproduce and chance your children accidentally watching it. Or, if you prefer, smashing your dong with something heavy will hurt less than remembering this movie.

Then again, it was fun to watch drunk, MST3K style.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

Never saw the movie, but I did see the box for the game. I just figured that it was a lame Who Framed Roger Rabbit cash-in.

Bakshi tends to get the short end of the stick. Oftentimes he'd want to go one direction with a movie and end up having to compromise. Same thing happened with his version of the Lord of the Rings. Originally it was intended to tell the whole tale over a few movies however he was screwed over at the last moment by the executives from United Artist. Bakshi's movies often get a bad rap however he was often screwed over at the last moment. He's a very competent artist, he's just had it rough. The movie was admittedly bad however don't let it turn you off of other Bakshi films.

Didn't Bashki do Fritz the cat?

Also the crazy Fire Chief from Ren & Stimpy is a tribute to Bashki.

Yeah he did. However to my knowledge he doesn't like to be associated with it's so called "Sequel".

Fritz turned out to be an awesome movie. I remember that he had Fritz killed off in the sequel because he hated him so much.

My friend and I rented this back in 1994 or 1995. I liked the cartoon world parts but the stuff in the real world was kind of lame.

I remember seeing trailers for this movie when it first came out. I was like 11 or 12, and I was pretty sure it was porn. I wanted to see it so bad. Kinda glad I didn't.

I had the same feeling and often considered renting it but something deep down was telling me to stay away.

I think the only good part of that movie was when it ended. Although, the initial concept for the movie would probably still be bad but it would be a horror movie then, so no one would think less of it.

When Brad whips out his badge and it said CWPD, i can't help but think that the movie is immature enough to imply the initials could also mean "Cock Wiener Pork & Dick" Or maybe it's me because Cool World warped my mind.

Also, none of Nostalgia Critic's friends have any acting skills whatsoever. It's like watching dinner theater.

I kind of feel like a kid who's having his hero torn apart and spit on. Then again I need to grow thicker skin. I'm a major Bakshi fan however I never cared for Cool World that much.

The only Bakshi film I haven't been able to see in it's entirety is Coonskin. I managed to watch most of it on youtube however they removed parts of the movie for being offensive. The parts I seen were excellent though.

Well Bakshi fans, to make the brunt of this a little better: Calling Cool World a Baksih film is like calling Superman Returns a Christopher Reeve film. IIRC, Cool World was Bakshi's idea, taken and given the American History X Shower Scene treatment.

Or, totally fucked in the ass, for people who didn't get the joke. By Nazis.

I've actually played the NES game based on this(or tried to, anyways).
I never knew it was a movie until now.

That said, it's a pretty horrible game. The kind that would wind up on a "Ten Worst Movie Licensed NES Games" on this very site...

Yeah, but it's still a shame. Bakshi is a great artist and it sucks that he hasn't gotten the recognition he deserves.
