In steambot chronicles there is a mission where if you dont lose a fight on purpose this guy will kill your friends. but if you do then you have just lost to one of the weakest fighters in the game

it pissed me off when i won just to se what would happen and the guy who owns the arena catches the guy who told you to lose and has him thrown in jail. it pisses me off because every other time i played it i lost because i didnt want the people killed

I remember that fight! I was in a bad mood the day I had to do that and decided to call his bluff. Luckily I got to have my cake and eat it as well. I always felt really bad when I decided to give the schematics to the owner of the silk mill. If you look around you'll find one of the workers turning tricks on a street corner in one of the bigger towns, I always felt bad about that.

What about Tails in Sonic 2? It was almost massachistic how much he would get himself hurt. At some point you just want to tell him to go home and wait for you there.

Oh yeah, that poor, little fox kept getting his ass handed to him, yet he still kept going. He's pretty much on the same level, if not on a higher, than the Energizer bunny.

Yes, he's hard to kill off. But it's the only way to get the Relm Dream.

I actually could never save Shadow until a few years ago, I always ran out of time and panicked

But...all you have to do is wait. He doesn't show up until the last like, 10 seconds...

You actually have to move to the airship, and say that 'We need to wait for Shadow'.

The first time I played the game, I just waited without ever triggering that message. He never came. I died.

Oooh okay. I totally didn't realize that you actually HAVE to trigger the message. I guess I had the good fortune of inadvertently triggering it on every playthrough.

Yeah, that was my problem too, I always just waited there hoping he'd show up, but 8 tries later my dad finally suggested "Maybe you should go to the airship anyways and just say wait"

On a related note, my buddy and I were playing GTA 4 the other night. He walked past an alleyway and this guy came out carrying a heavy bag and asked for a ride to the docks. So we're driving this dude and he's clearly a little unstable. And very weird when it comes to sex and stuff of that ilk. So we get to the dock, and the guy says, 'ok, time to drop off the kids!' And it cuts to a scene of him throwing the bag into the water. He gets back in the car and asks for a ride back to Algonquin. On the way he says he likes Algonquin because there's lots of little boys to play with, and then goes on about how little boys and girls are fun in different but similar ways.

We pulled into an alley and killed him, as we couldn't bring ourselves to finish the mission.

If you've read the Liberty Tree newspaper on GTA IV's internet, you might have noticed articles about a creepy serial killer/rapist/all-around sicko who usually leaves his victims hidden in several pieces around the city.

Yep, that dude you met was him. If you hadn't killed him, you could have run into him again in another location (in front of an alley in north Alderney)... and then killed him.

I have a couple.

Saturos and Menardi from Golden Sun.

However, I only felt this way after I learned why they were relighting the light houses.

After I did, though, it's really hard to fight them... although not doing so would inevitably kill off Felix, which is even worse.

I completely forgot about Fable.

You know, I almost had second thoughts about throwing away Jack's mask.

And what about when you choose between killing your sister and having the most powerful weapon in the game? It's like fuck dude she's BLIND.

In MGS2 when Otacon's sister is killed by VAMP/Radien and that cutscene where they are in that lab in the bird keeps saying 'Hal'.

Pretty much MGS game can get depressing.

I felt the same way, but I ended up getting the Mana Sword later. Infinitely better. Laughing

Also, I exploite--ahem... tryed that glitch where you can save during a quest and retain all the items you got but start it over. I have the sword, but I also let my sister live. Very Happy

Best cheat in the whole goddamn world.

I'll throw out Amanda from Mystic Quest for the GB. She turned into a Medusa and begged to be killed before she turned into a monster...and the game made you slash her yourself. Sad

Are you playing the PAL version of Final Fantasy Adventure perchance?

I am indeed. Totally innocent and in no way legally compromising acquisitions of games I could not otherwise be playing are wonderful, wonderful things Very Happy .

I suppose I should have just said FF: A, but I'm currently playing Mystic Quest to compare the two (I heard they have some differences), so Mystic Quest was in my head, and I didn't feel like going back to change it later.

Awesome, I have another one, by the way, Martin Septim from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, I couldn't bear to watch the man who played Boromir die again! Why can't Sean Bean catch a break?!

I know! And he fucking died in Equilibrium too! What the fuck!

Watching Martin die really, really made me sad; I felt so bad for him. I'm not sure if it counts as someone *you* killed, though, since he made the decision to do what he did himself.

Yeah, I guess so, but I really started to like how he grew as an emperor to be over the course of the game from some random monk with a spotty past involving daedric cults

Sean Bean also died in Goldeneye and The Island. I have yet to see a film in which he makes it to the credits.

I couldn't decide who to kill between Francis or Gerald McReary in GTA 4. So I took the most logical option, I shot a rocket between them and let fate decide.
