I don't like to think that any form of conversational exclamations are outdated, nor do I even like the term "outdated" but there are many words that should not be used in conversation anymore. I'll start with a few that I have heard oh too many times.
Bodacious - Yes, apparently people still use this word. And I'm sure half of them are in an ironic snarky sense, but it needs to be stopped. Soon.
Flippin' - I have heard people use the word "Flipping" as an alternative to "Freaking" or "Fucking" and it just does not work. Like "Man, that game was flippin' sweet!" No it was not, it was motherfucking sweet, now shut your mouth.
Anyways, I guess you get the point. What are some words that you absolutely cannot stand for anymore?

The expression "oh my God" pronounced as a single word, i.e. "omygaaawd!" Yes, people still do that. And I hate it.
Surfer jargon. It has its place I guess, when you're at the beach and among people who speak the language and share your passion. But in the same way I wouldn't go around saying "BOOM! Headshot!" or "10th enemy has the bomb" to non-gamers, I would really not hear "tubular" or "cowabunga" in everyday conversation.

When I hear "fail" when somebody does something stupid. Yea, me and my friends used it a year ago, but now this is getting ridiculous, EVERYONE IS USING IT!
"Awkward" Ya, I say it sometimes, but the same problem as above, too many people use it, and it ruins it.

I actually love surfer talk, since at least 75% of decently intelligent people understand it, and I find it hilarious. Internet talk in everyday life sucks, it just doesn't belong, "gangsta" talk sucks and makes you out to be even more of an idiot IMO.

Jargon from the 60's and 70's in general, in most languages.
Exact phrases I'm too embarassed to listen include:
- That's hot!
- Jumpin' jiminy!
- Holy whatever, Batman!
- "Uh huh, oh yeah, oh baby!" while singing or dancing.

Gangsta talk is a very good call, especially in suburban areas mostly populated by middle class white kids who want to act tough. I'm sorry, but using lingo you heard in bad rap songs and wearing pants that fall around your ankles does not make you a badass, nor does it make Rancho San Diego "the 'hood."

This is a more recent one, here in Brazil.
Ever since Ronaldo the soccer player came back to a national club this year, everybody and their cousin's dog, thinking they're the shiznit (another outdated word in English), answer most questions with a pretty annoying-sounding 'RONALDO!'.
This needs to stop...

Just when I thought it was safe to come out from under cover and the term "ass-whuppin'" had become obsolete, three weeks ago I heard someone utter it at my school. RGH.

You guys don't even want to know all the little micro-memes that have been created at my school by all the hicks. God damn, it's the worst. People yelling "AAAARON", making "fft, fft," noise all the time, saying "MOOOANY" (which doesn't even make sense), shit man, what else. I could go on for days.

What about when people say "that's choice". Not that many people say it, but I heard someone say it and it just didn't sound right.

That is actually kind of funny. My friends and I used to do something similar except it was RONALDIHNO! during his coming out party in the '98 world cup. For a while there, our teachers were getting pretty fed up with us when we answering every question like "what was the biggest threat to the roman empire in the third century?" and of course it was followed up with "RONALDIHNO!". It was pretty moronic, but it had it's brief moment.

I actually like "flippin" but it should be used sparingly.

Shizzle/Nizzle/Heezay/Sheezay, of course.
It only sounds cool when Snoop Dogg says it.
Also, I'm sooooo glad "owned/pwned" has mostly died a horrible death from too many non-internet users using it.

In a way, each of us has an El Guapo to face. For some, shyness might be their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education might be their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big, dangerous man who wants to kill us. But as sure as my name is Lucky Day, the people of Santa Poco can conquer their own personal El Guapo, who also happens to be *the actual* El Guapo! |

Frick or, to be more precise, the phrase "What the frick?"
My kid brother used to say that all the time. I'm not a violent person by nature however I found it took an ungodly amount of willpower to refrain from backhanding the little cretin.
