I really enjoyed playing this game on the PC back in late 2004 and early 2005. The gameplay is really repetitive but the writing, dialogue and pop-culture references make the game quite hilarious.

"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."

"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."

Sacrilege, my friend. If your were a fan of the original line of games, designed by Al Lowe, you would realize how bad the writing was in MCL. Terrible, terrible, repetitive game that besmirched a great franchise. What an insult to Al Lowe's legacy and the great history of Sierra Adventure Games.

All hail the true history of LSL:

Maybe so but MCL is pretty funny if you mess up the conversations intentionally, and having a few drinks in you doesn't hurt either. I never said these guilty pleasure games were great, but for some reason I enjoy them.

Nicely done. Comment left for your approval. Very Happy

Also, just a thought...have you considered just having one thread for your blog updates? I could care less honestly, but thought I'd throw the idea out there.

Possibly, but I hate double posting in a single thread. I'll try it and maybe just add a small description of the latest post(s). Thanks again for the comments/support.

I don't expect you to try that game out either. It is badly designed and repetitive but the conversations are funny.

There are a few pro wrestling references if you can manage to find them and/or botch the conversations. Playing with a trainer file to allow you to mess up the conversations and still win the mini-game is the best way to go. One of the best conversation botches is when you are talking to Analisa. If you pick one of the red conversation icons in her second convrsation mini-game your character says:

"My dad and Yokozuna lost to the Natural Disasters at Summerslam, talk about embarrassing!"

It is not comedic gold by any means but the pop-culture references are there. I love the conversation between your character and the Russian girl. Your characters says something like "Until you admit that Ivan Drago's murder of Apollo Creed was no mistake we can't begin to heal." Or something along those lines.

I'm with Cattivo.

Hey speaking of that game, did you actually beat it? I got bored around the Professor / Monkey part and traded it back in for something else. Confused

I beat it on PC thanks to multiple save points. There are only three women in the final set when you actually get on the dating show, hence the multiple saves.

The dating show part is not as funny as the other parts though. I loved the line when they ask Morgan where she is from. She is from Delaware. The host is like "I've never heard of that." She says "Delaware... Yeah, George Thorogood is from there." Or something along those lines.

That whole bit with her being from Delaware reminded me of the Wayne's World movie bit with the blue screen. "I'm in Delaware."

The fact that scoring with the nerd chick is actually just playing dungeons and dragons with her is the funniest part of the game.

Like I said the gameplay is bad, the dialogue is great.

"There's no more of that nudge-nudge, wink- wink kind of double-entendre kind of humor. All that's been traded in for an American Pie style of humor..."

Yes, let's trade in the smart humor that Al Lowe wrote for stupid, raunchy, lowest common denominator crap. Rolling Eyes

Here's Al Lowe, the creator of the character on the writing in MCL:

"Much of the dialogue is uninspired and trite. There's more profanity in the first scene than in all the previous Larry games combined. Women cuss like sailors. The F-word is repeated so often the writers must have used a macro."

The good news, is that it's not as bad as the latest raping of the Larry character, Box Office Bust: http://www.allowe.com/Larry/BOB.htm

Yeah, Box Office Bust was horrible. It was basically a GTA clone.
