This struck me as great news. Until I tried to think of the last 5 good games they put out.

Well, four consoles in the market? Could work though, if it's the casual war between Nintendo and SEGA, and the hardcore war between Microsoft and Sony.

The Dreamcast is the second most popular refurbished/used console right now. PS2 is the first.

I would definitely believe that. I got a new, well refurbished one, a couple months ago. Great purchase, apparently the shop I got it from said they were a real hot ticket within the last year or so.

I don't think Sega will reenter the console market. They're having enough trouble selling software right now. Plus, they'd need to REALLY wow developers to get the exclusives necessary to be competitive.

I love the Dreamcast too but I don't know if consumers are really ready to embrace a new console from Sega. A lot of casual gamers that I've talked to never played the Dreamcast and often say it sucked because its life was so short. So I think customers still may be skeptical to lay down the money for another Sega console.

This is what I think too. But if they put a box out and actually released some of their long-dormant gems, I'd buy it right away.
