Sounds good. I typically like to buy high end so that I don't have to buy a new one for five years or so. So, it looks like waiting 6-12 months is a good idea for me.

it just depends, upgrading to Vista, you can have it where you still have an independent copy of XP on your hardrive that has all you files.

basically it will say when you start up

Older version of Windows(The OS you were using like Windows XP, all you old files)
Microsoft Windows Vista(The new Operating System,fresh install)

you can even do
Microsoft Windows Vista
Micrsoft Windows Vista(1)
