Eh, I don't see why this needed a thread. Oh well. Anyway, fuck "Canada's cold" bullshit. Sure it gets to be, but it was like thirty fucking degrees out today, so I'm pissed.

Canadians have an extreme resistance to the cold. Americans have a resistance to eating McDonalds.

I live in the mountains of Virginia, so it can be 30 degrees in DC which is a hundred or so miles up the road, but 4 degrees here. I'm use to the cold, bring it on.

Cold is a 30 degree day following a string of 85 degree days.

You realize that the Americans aren't impressed by this at all, and you need to say that it's 87 out for us to realize that you mean it was hot. Fuck your "centigrade".

Jeebs is right, centigrade makes no sense. When is it ever going to be anywhere near boiling outside? It isn't accurate at all. 85 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit are about as far apart as 30 and 31 degrees centigrade.

Actually centigrade makes perfect sense, below zero is the freezing point, above zero is not. Pretty straight forward...and secondly why are you guys calling it centigrade? Is that what you call it in the states? I understand that is a name for it, but as far as I know it's always been referred to as Celsius.

I thought it was Celsius but centigrade referred to how large the difference of each degree is. And their complaint is that it isn't practical due to the larger degrees. For measuring the weather, why should you use a system where the temperature rarely goes above 40? Whereas our with our system, the entire scale is packed into eighty degrees, in theirs it's packed into 144, almost twice as large. This gives a more specific idea of where the temperature is.
