Am I the only one kind of annoyed that they did this? I mean, I just dropped a chunk of change tracking down the first three GHs. Had I known this was coming out, I might have held off.
Meh, maybe I'm being too cynical...I really wish they wouldn't repackage stuff they've already put out in an attempt to get more cash though.

As I said, I'm kinda happy. I bought Guitar Hero III for the Wii when it first came out, as that was the only system I had at the time. As a result, all my band games investments have ended up being for that system, so I missed out on GH2 and GH1. And I don't think GH1 was ever released on anything besides PS2, so I would have missed out competely on that one anyway.
Plus, the added option of vocals and drums on these older tracks is fairly badass.

| I vastly prefer Rock Band over Guitar Hero (also, the fact that Smash Hits is being developed by some relatively unknown studio instead of Neversoft may or may not be a good thing), but if this game has Search And Destroy, Rock This Town, Metal Health (Bang Your Head), Welcome to the Jungle and Sweet Child O' Mine, I will certainly buy it. |
i agree if u mean everything but the guitar. the guitar on rockband sucks so bad. unless u buy one of those cheaper ones that work for both games. but the official rockband guitar blows. know whats really awesome tho. real guitar.

I use the Guitar Hero 3 controller on the rare occasion I play the guitar on Rock Band (usually I'm the singer and let my friends handle guitar duties), it has served me well enough.
I also have a real guitar, and yes, it's very awesome. My fingers are a bit too short and stubby for effective shredding, though, so I kinda got fed up with it quite a while ago.

I enjoy Rock Band a bit more, the tour is slightly deeper, and I never got any of the first 4 games, I just borrowed them, so I'll probably get this.

I prefer Rock Band to Guitar Hero. Even since Activision took it over they have been really milking the franchise. I love the Metallica edition and the Van Halen edition will be great too but do we need so many games?
Since they took it over there has been seven Guitar Hero games since 2007. That to me is a bit excessive. I'd rather they go the Rock Band route and just release more songs on the Xbox Live Marketplace instead of so many individual games.
