I have to say, it was worth watching. While the mystery and clues were not as pronounced as they were in Divinci Code, the music and story add an intense entertaining element. Oh and Antimatter for the win!!!

Spoiler: Did anyone else notice that the main villain's scheme was way over the top, kind of reminded me of the joker from Dark Knight.

I heard the original plot was butchered.

I'm quite looking forward to this. I wasn't a huge DaVinci Code fan, but this sort of plot is much more to my liking. Plus, anything that involves that LHC is automatically awesome.

There's an anti-matter bomb in this movie, I heard. What a load of shit.

^ Of course it is. But then again, so are zombies, vampires, and most of the gadgets James Bond uses. That fails to make them any less awesome.

Or ridiculous. I'll be seeing Star Trek again Sunday, where the use of anti-matter is more plausible.

it's funny you should use QFT, because it could also mean Quantum Field Theory, which vaguely relates to the movie . . . vaguely.

This movie is better than most of the other crap that's out right now. The music is good, the subject matter is interesting imo and it's better than The Divinci Code. After you see Star Trek, go see this.

And while Dan Brown is not a great author, I'd rather have more Dan Brown's putting out books than reality tv producers. At least it's proof that main stream people in the US are still reading, or capapable of that anyway.

I haven't read any of his books, but I agree because he's responsible for Davinci Code and I got tired of hearing about it real fast. Fuck his creations.

Just saw the movie tonight. Never read the book, but enjoyed the movie immensely. The twist at the end rather pissed me off because I felt very highly invested in the character the twist happened to, but it was still very entertaining. Fun to watch Langdon race around Rome against the clock, trying to put the clues together. (I could have done with a few more interesting clues--about the third time they followed the direction a statue was pointing, it started to wear.)

Overall, a solid 3.5/5. Political intrigue + action + Ewan McGreggor = win*

*Star Wars I, II and III not applicable

Yeah, but once it happened, everything that the character had done prior to it made so much more sense. The little nuances that the actor playing the character put into his performance, which struck me as odd prior to the twist's unveiling, were PERFECT for the character and the story in hindsight. When he grabbed the thing and took off with it, he looked completely possessed, just as he should have. He was totally into the role. Just a brilliant performance, a fantastic job on his part.

Damn. It's really difficult and convoluted trying to express just how great his acting was without spoiling the whole movie.

Anyway, I really dug Angels and Demons, probably because I have neither seen or read The DaVinci Code.

spoiler!

I picked up on the twist before it was revealed, it seemed kind of suspicious when i said to myself at one point "why don't they make the priest the Pope, he's been doing an awesome job . . . wait a minute."

Then after the head security guy locked himself in the room with the priest it just seemed too obvious then. It was the kind of twist that was subtle until the end but if you paid attention to the clues , you could figure it out.

Absolutly, man. He was brilliant.

*Below there be spoilers!*

I didn't mean to imply that the twist didn't WORK--just that it disappointed me because I loved his character so damn much, and I was sad to see that he had been misleading me. Which is exactly the reaction the audience should have, if they did it right imho.

Reaper, I didn't pick up on it at that point. I knew there was something semi-weird going on because honestly? A 30 year old little priest as Pope? No matter how awesome he is, that wouldn't fly. So I smelled something fishy, but I didn't see the fact that he was BEHIND THE WHOLE THING coming lol.

This was one of the greater movies that came out recently. Also, the application of anti-matter as a bomb is totally feasible. You didn't know that?

Also, *SPOILERS* the scene where the ENTIRE Conclave was staring at the priest after the Anti-matter Bomb went off? That scene came to me as the strongest emotional facet in this movie.

When I saw it, there were two emotions that went through my mind. One, was of staring at an ancient and irascible power. I felt like I was looking at a power base that if I provoked it would destroy me in the blink of an eye.

The second emotion was of an intense and unbelievable shame. There were about five seconds where you could see the entire Conclave, but in those five seconds, I almost felt branded. It was very powerful, and I haven't forgotten that feeling.
