You're supposed to kill the BOSS quickly, not Slippy.

Exactly, we WANT to kill Slippy. Razz

I didn't really want to kill Solidus from MGS2. Besides the whole "I killed your parents" and "I want to shoot missiles all over the place and murder innocent people" thing, I thought he was fighting a good cause against the douchebag Patriots.

I felt kind of bad when you have to kill all your Aeons at the end of Final Fantasy X. They looked so miserable and in pain. Also, in FF Tactics, towards the end when your brother begs you to kill him because he's been possessed. Your other brother is no problem to kill because he was an evil dick anyway.

In Perfect Dark on N64 on the Air Force One level, you encounter the president. Even though you would fail the mission for shooting him, I sometimes could not help myself, he just stands there! I would stand there with my dual cyclones contemplating what to do until I would say "fuck it" and yield to my itchy trigger finger.

Great call. That one makes me feel like a douche every time.

He also absolutely loves to stand between you and enemy soldiers, making you fail the mission all the time because you don't have time to react and stop shooting.

Oh, when we mean emotionally hard, it's supposes to be sad, not consumed with so much rage that the controller breaks.

I'd have to say the Slimes from Dragon Warrior, there too damn cute and innocent to harm. It's like snake resisting to open fire becuase gray fox is in the way

A slime draws near! A slime draws near! A slime draws near!

Let's quickly transpose this to "most emotionally difficult missions to carry out."

In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, one of the missions requires you to steal a talented rappers lyric book and give it to some hack so he could make it in the music business. And you had to do it stealthily, problem is their idea of stealthy is going up behind the guards and slitting their throats.

Now stealing music from a talented musician (even if fictional) is repulsive enough, but slitting an innocent guards throat? Fuck you. I couldn't do story mode for 6 months because of that.

Yes, he's hard to kill off. But it's the only way to get the Relm Dream.

What's the Relm Dream?

I never got that far, but that would upset me as well.

That one part in GTA: Vice City where you have to kill all those Haitians in a matter of self defense made me feel like a racist and a total jerk towards the people of Haiti. Wait, self defense? More like genocide!

This Is A Joke

On a more serious note, I didn't like the idea of fighting either X or Zero in Mega Man X5 (depends on whom you choose to play). I love both of those guys, for crying out loud! I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!

One of the missions after that (or was it before? I forget) is almost as bad. In that one you are supposed to kill the talented rapper's manager when he exits an awards show, and you do it by disguising yourself as his driver, locking the doors once he and who appears to be his girlfriend step in... and then driving the car into the ocean. Yeah.

Another one was in the first Saints Row. You're blackmailed into killing the mayor of Stilwater (who, by all accounts, seems like a good guy who has done nothing wrong, which is rare in Saints Row and is apparently why he's wanted dead), and this is done by getting his campaign bus to crash into a train. Let's just say that I was quite happy to see what happened in the ending of the game a couple of missions later.

It's amazing how many of life's problems are solved by indiscriminate cannon fire.

Also, I didn't want to kill Big Boss at the end of Metal Gear 2 (not the NES game, the one made by Hideo Kojima). The game was included in the package for MGS 3: Substance for the PS2, and I already beat MGS 3 and had sympathy for the character Naked Snake aka Big Boss. Killing him was the only option in the game, and it was not easy.

It was also sad that you had to kill Iris in Mega Man X4, quite possibly Zero's only true love. It was also sad in Mega Man Zero 3 when you had to destroy your old body.

Is it just me or does anybody else feel bad when you have to ditch Yoshi off a cliff or into lava to reach a ledge in Super Mario World? I also feel bad for kicking the baby Yoshis of a cliff.

This might sound cruel, but I didn't care about ANYONE in MMX4. I think Iris' goofy British accent was a contributing factor to such an attitude of mine. Confused

I haven't played the Mega Man Zero games, though.

Wow, there are a lot more emotionally difficult to kill video game characters than I thought. Confused

I felt a twinge of guilt entombing the construction foreman in cement in GTA: San Andreas.

Yeah, that foreman mission was fucked. San Andreas had some really hard characters to kill, but some really easy one to kill too, like Smoke and Ryder. Shit.

For me, it was killed Don Salvatore in GTA 3. He had done a shit load for you and you were buddies with his son. Sure he tried to have you killed, but fuck, it was still hard to pull the trigger.

Sometimes I have a problem killing pedestrians in any GTA game too.

In steambot chronicles there is a mission where if you dont lose a fight on purpose this guy will kill your friends. but if you do then you have just lost to one of the weakest fighters in the game

it pissed me off when i won just to se what would happen and the guy who owns the arena catches the guy who told you to lose and has him thrown in jail. it pisses me off because every other time i played it i lost because i didnt want the people killed

What about Tails in Sonic 2? It was almost massachistic how much he would get himself hurt. At some point you just want to tell him to go home and wait for you there.
