So I happened upon this the other day:

http://www.losangeles-tribune.com/finance/indexb.php?&id=vcp

Um, that is fake, right? And all those comments on the bottom are plants right? Because otherwise seriously, why am I trying to get a real job instead of doing that?

I mean its obviously not a real newspaper or anything, and usually I don't think twice about stuff like this. And no, I'm not about to go sign up. Its gotta be too good to be true. Right?

As far as I can tell it's real, but you would have to get reeeally lucky to make as much as she does.

Make money from home scams are common enough to be a particular species.

Also be careful, newspapers have been running full page ads as of late that are pseudo articles, like "Amish begin selling cheap pellet oven" or "US now minting commemerative coins". Its legal but kinda mildly deceptive.

(I just looked at the link. Ummm, you don't have to be a robot detective to notice the small notification under the los angeles tribune news header that says "This publication is an article advertisement for Easy Google Profit". You'll also notice with the most minor of effort that everything else in the thing is a giant shill for this con. Its got the results not typical notifier at the very bottom, which puts this right with magic rainforest berries helped me lose 35 pound advertisements at 3:00 AM.)

^ Oh I noticed that. That was when my almost-excitement turned to bitter, bitter bile.

How exactly DO these scams work, anyway? Having never been in one myself, I'm kinda curious as to how they actually make money off you.

It's basically the same principle as Avon. You can make a lot of money doing it, but unless you commit at least 80 a week to selling your wares and unless you encounter a fair degree of luck, you're not going to make much money doing it.
