Bronson would have been the best Bond ever.

I'm a big fan of Bronson's Bond, which is why I was so pissed when they kicked him out for that troll Craig, even though Bond 20 was a horrible movie (and having Halle "I won an Oscar with no acting ability: see Catwoman & X-Men" Berry just made things even worse).

For the record, BROSNAN was Bond. BRONSON was the guy from Death Wish.

I liked Bond 20. Cheesy as hell, but there were some good ideas in there.

Casino Royale was almost helmed by Tarantino. He lost interest in the job when the producers said he couldn't rehire Brosnan.

I always wished Connery would get cast as a Bond villain. The closest we ever got was The Avengers, and that was terrible.

Why would a person see Titanic?

The same reason that a person who hates Sci-Fi would watch Star Wars.

Titanic is utter crap, but it is the biggest pile of crap ever, it is worth seeing once so that you can understand why every movie is better.

At least Titanic wasn't as bad as Batman & Robin...to think I paid $5 to see that back in 1997 still gives me nightmares.

Brosnan is one I use to hate, but he actually is a pretty cool dude in my book now

He seriously was one of the best guests ever on SNL, him and Jimmy Fallon did a skit that was so damn funny that on top of already being funny, it was hilarious trying to see them hold back laughing,

also I got to give him credit for sticking with his wife even though she gained a ton of weight, kinda like Sunny from the WWE

The photo on the right was stretched width wise.

I'm not saying that she looks the same, but TMZ or whoever Photoshopped that shit.

That is such a fucking mean thing to do. Seriously.

...Although on an unrelated note, gaining that kind of weight would be worth it for a shot at being in that first picture with Mr. Brosnan there....

The movie was pretty damn awesome. I like the little nods to the original series. I also liked how the movie does try to be different but respects it's source material. The special effect were steller but SE seems to be the only thing Hollywood has been constantly getting right lately so it's almost become a given.

Now i know Kirk with the Green Girl is a reference to his fancy for the Green Pussy but i can't recall what episode that is from. I see no immediate flaws in this movie, it was delivered as the top rate action movie. And YEAH for SPOCK!!!

I am now going to watch some snarky reviews and see what some of the complaints might be . . .

Pike was the one who really had an Orion in the series, but that was the Pilot, and it was a fake Orion.

Kirk did interact with one in The Squire of Gothos, but there was no hanky panky between them besides some flirting, IIRC.

How do you feel about how some trekkies are pissed about the canon reset? I personally could careless about it. The last series sucked and most the movies haven't been that great since First Contact anyways. They need to change it up if fans want to see more series and movies coming out.

That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that Paramount, desperate to make money off of Star Trek, and unable to create a series that people actually cared about since DS9, has decided to go back to mine the original series for more money, since that's the one that's most universally loved. But now the actors who played those parts are either old or dead. So what does that mean? FRANCHISE RESET!

It's a shameless attempt for money, and it's helmed by a guy whose other movies have been shallow, visceral, and soulless. Between this and the Three Stooges movie, I'm mad as hell. Some franchises are best left alone. What's next, is Hollywood going to make a new "Little Tramp" movie? I mean, we don't REALLY need Charlie Chaplin for the role, do we?

Let me put it this way, Plethora: imagine I took Beethoven's 9th, added in explosions and lasers, and went on to be hailed by all major medium outlets as a visionary who had reinvented a dead franchise? You'd hate me, and I wouldn't blame you. This is no different.

I hate to say this Syd but Hollywood has done so many remakes that i am now desensitized to any anger i once had about Hollywood raping a franchise for cash.

Then again i have lost track of star trek for so long, that i guess i really could give a shit.

And koodos to Cattivo for the video . . . funny as all hell and yet soo sooooo true.

It's a common myth about Trek, just like how the line "Beam Me Up Scotty" was never spoken in the series - although "Scotty, beam me up" was said in the animated series. So, it's not surprising to hear it - especially since they had Stewie repeat it in a Christmas episode of Family Guy.

Yes, and I wholeheartedly agree. Twisted Evil

That's the Orion from Squire of Gothos - the actress also played Batgirl in the campy 60s Batman TV show. The character, Marta, is in an asylum in that ep, so she was particularly entertaining.

This is a spoiler:

None of these reviews mentioned Kirk hitting his head in the shuttle...well maybe they did because I didn't feel like reading that much. Very Happy Granted it is a reference to Star Trek 5, which is probably the worst film in the Trek universe, that I've seen. I have NOT seen every film, as big of a fan of Trek as I am I have not seen Insurrection or Nemesis.

However, Final Frontier was the first Star Trek trailer I saw in the theater and people were going crazy when they saw it. I remember seeing it when I was with my friend and his mom when we saw Batman on opening night.

I laughed at that, then immediately hated myself for laughing at such a silly joke. I did like that casual salute Kirk gave immediately after, though.

Necro'd for this
Quote:
Nimoy: I Am Not Spock (Any More)

The sequel to Star Trek may still be at the writing stage, but there's one character we now know for sure won't be appearing in it: Leonard Nimoy has announced that he's hanging up his pointy ears for good again.

During an appearance with William Shatner at this weekend's Dragon*Con, Nimoy to the crowd,

There are no plans for me to return for the second movie. I think the Spock character is very well established as portrayed by Zachary Quinto. And I think if you saw the movie Bill, you'd say the same of Chris Pine.

Shatner, channeling his Boston Legal character Denny Crane, responded with a quick "Bullshit," although he apparently spent a large part of their shared panel mock-pouting about not being in the JJ Abrams remake. Some of the panel has already ended up online.
