I am beginning to think so.
On the night I was eliminated from the forum battle, I also lost $100. I don't mean I made and lost it; I mean I LOST it.
I was out at dinner with Black Zarak and Jeebus, and when it came time to pay Jeebus only had a $100. I gave him five $20 bills for hundred, then threw in $20 to cover my part of the bill. Or so I thought. When I got home, I found the $100 to be missing. So either I gave it to the waitress by mistake or I lost it somehow. At first, I thought I gave it to the waitress. Now, I'm not so sure.
About a week and a half ago, I accidentally threw out two quick picks I had bought for the Mega Millions. I realized about an hour later they were missing and found them in the trash.
Wednesday night, I discovered that my key for my work locker was missing.
Today, I went to the mall with my mom to get my grandmother presents for Mothers' Day and her birthday. I bought her some DVDs at Best Buy with my credit card. Not an hour later, I returned home to find my credit card was missing.
I am completely fucking scared. Either my lefthand pocket is some magic blackhole that sucks things into another dimension, or I am losing my fucking mind. I do not like this one bit.

There are no holes in my pockets. I checked over and over.
Brain Age is not a bad idea.

Checking your pocket for holes if you haven't already isn't actually a horrible suggestion lol.
In all seriousness, I don't know if it will make you feel any better, but I am going through exactly the same thing. I feel like my brain has shut off and stopped working. I don't know why. I don't think its premature aging or anything (better not fucking be), but maybe it does have to do with growing and maturing, and your brain has to adapt to new thought patters and ways of thinking...
I'm no scientist, I just pulled that out of my ass, but for what its worth you aren't alone.

Here's a fun little Catch 22 situation:
Being as I can't find my card, my first instinct is to report lost or stolen, because I know the moment I do so, I'll find my card on the floor of the car or some other ridiculous place. So I go onto my online account with the credit card company to see if I can report my card there. I can't. The online account management panel does however provide me with a phone number I can call to report my card. So I call the number. It's automated. The first thing it asks for is my 16 digit credit card number... which I don't have because I lost my fucking card. I hang up and go back to the website to see if I can get my full credit card number there; I can't. The website, for my protection, will only give me the last four digits. So because I haven't fucking memorized my credit card number, I can't report it lost or stolen. The website lets me order a replacement card though, free of charge. So I did that.
So in 3-5 business days, I'll have a new card and I can report the old one lost or stolen. There's a decent chance I left my card on the counter at Best Buy though, so I'm going to back there hopefully Monday and see. I'd like to go tomorrow, but it's Mothers' Day and all.
FML.

I am having a similar situation with my house/car keys. I normally never lose my keys or misplace them and end up finding them a day later. Now they are completely gone.
I think you just have to make sure and double check before you get into your car if you have gotten something(its a good habit to start that saves aggrivation) I have been in a rush a few times and not paying attention and thats when you usually lose stuff.
I seriously feel bad though Syd, I get mad even losing 10 dollars.

Well... I found my credit card. Apparently when I got home from the mall, I took both my phone and my credit card out of my pocket and put them on the kitchen table while I ran to the bathroom. During this time, my dad decided to hide my credit card on me, just to fuck with me. And he specifically knew that I'd never ask him if he'd seen it, because while it had occurred to me that he might be fucking with me, if he wasn't, I'd look like an idiot for accusing him of hiding it on me.
So, my credit line is secure for now. I can rest easy tonight.
But I still can't get into my locker at work and I'm still out $100. And I'm still going to play Brain Age hardcore. Maybe I'll get some ginko biloba too.

I thought I had lost my debit card for a day once and freaked, I didn't even realize since i usually deal in cash to prevent spending all my paychecks. However, I had to buy some tickets for an upcoming show and when i reached for my card it was gone. My mind went through fucking hoops thinking about where it could have been last, I ordered pizza the previous night so I checked the table in front of the house and when that turned up nothing I checked EVERY pair of pants I had. I was in the process of calling the bank and was on hold for like 5 minutes and got pissed. So, I figured I might as well ask my mom if she has seen it, probably not but it wouldn't hurt, turns out when I had ordered the pizza I had given her the card back thinking it was hers I suppose.

I just went through that shit six months ago. I lost my wallet in the movie theater and had to replace my wallet, credit cards, drivers license, and a bunch of other shit I didn't remember I have until I needed it. Sadly, I got everything replaced, and a month ago I did the same exact thing. I left my wallet in the movie theater again, but this time they had it.

Syd, if you want to find the rest of your stuff try the simple things. Them being check in the space where the backrest meets the ass part of your car, check under your drivers seat. Check in your couch especialy that small area where you can barley put your hand in, check all the spaces of your wallet for your $100, and lastly check your other pants

Once in a drunken stupor I threw my glasses into the trash instead of putting them on my nightstand. I tore the house apart looking for them the next day. You know how fucking hard it is to find your glasses when you can't see for shit because you're not wearing them?

Played Brain Age last night. Brain Age pisses me off. I was doing the math stuff night, and the goal is to do it as fast as possible. Which would be fine, except the game has trouble recognizing my 3's and 5's.

You need healthy, natural sleep. Chew on some valerian root and get some more exercise.

Honestly, this sounds like a typical day for me. I lose shit all the time, lock my keys in my car, leave my lights on. A couple of weeks ago I left my car door wide open with the keys in the ignition over night. I don't even drink or do drugs, at least then I would have an excuse.

Syd, you're just getting to be an old coot... stop drinkin' the shine, and you'll be fine....
In all seriousness though, it might just be work overload or something. Try not to put much pressure on the topic and you'll be fine.
