part of the joke I think. I took it as a mocking of the level design and how you still had to do some platforming after beating the boss in order to complete the level.

Watching it again, i'm not even sure it was a dirty harry game originally. They probably slapped Clint's grill in last minute to sell units.

I used to think Dirty Harry was one of the coolest NES games, but I could never get past that dang sewer.

it had potential but just was too confusing for little kids.
I liked the sprites, being able to fire a gun, and using a crowbar to open door. It had all the elements to be a good game.

I think it was a Soprano's reference, there was music in the background in the show and I think it may have been Journey as well.

I never even got into the sewers. I remember always using the "CLYDE" password to get infinite lives though.
