Yo, has anybody else happened to read any of this 6 issue miniseries by Mark Millar and Tommy Lee Edwards? I just finished it and I must say, I thought it was very interesting and put a new spin on how one might interpret the Marvel universe. It was a very good read and suggest it to anyone.

Yeah, I read it when it came out and it was great. At this point I'm just reading everything new Mark Millar puts out, because the man seems to be able to do no wrong.

I completely agree, you are the one that got me into Kick-Ass and now I can't stop reading his books. 1985 is so great because it is soo fucking meta (without getting annoying).
Also I love how when Toby first encounters Hulk, the first thing he mentions is "how awful he smells". Sensory details like that are great.
What else by him would you suggest?

Is it anything like George Orwell's 1984?

His current run on The Fantastic Four has been really good, although the last couple issues were a bit weak (By any other author they'd probably be great though, lol). War Heroes is amazing, except only 2 or 3 out of 5 are out so far, and it has to be a year since the last issue. If it ever finishes, I'd recommend that. Most importantly, though, you have to read the Old Man Logan story arc in Wolverine. It's like 7 issues long, but they're all out except one so you should be able to find it in a trade in a couple months if you can't find all the issues.
#edit: Since you liked Kick-Ass, you may want to try The Boys by Garth Ennis as well. It's an ongoing series (Issue 30 just came out yesterday), but there are a few trades out at this point.

Really? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that before. Everything he's writing right now is phenominal, except for Fantastic Four which is merely good (Two many issues of setup at this point)

WANTED and Kick Ass were both trash imo. He set out to write 'mature comic books' that feature violence and gore and rape and vulgarity - pretty much everything teenagers are interested in.

Granted, I didn't care much for Wanted, the movie further tarnished my opinion of that franchise.
I am reading the Ultimate X-Men arc and think he is doing a marvelous job (no pun intended).
