Alright, this has been driving me crazy literally for years, and no amount of research and google searching has given any dividends.

When I was five or six years old, I snuck out of bed in the middle of the night to watch TV while mom was asleep. The first thing I saw when I turned on was this horror movie that scared me shitless--I didn't want to watch really, but was so fascinated I couldn't NOT watch. I remember having nightmares for quite a few days afterward. The thing is, I have zero idea what the movie was, which sucks because I really want to watch it again to see just how cheesy it is to me now.

The only thing I remember about it at all is that it involved (I think) some kind of cult kidnapping some teenagers and trying to sacrifice them to some kind of idol--I remember it looking vaguely jackal-ish, kind of like Anubis, but that recollection could be wrong. The most vivid scene I can remember is of one of the teenagers (the obligatory big-boobed female) running through a graveyard, and getting pulled into some kind of grave or sarcophagus where she gets attacked by a bunch of disembodied hands (sort of like that one scene in The Labyrinth, except scarier.)

Does any of this ring a bell for anyone, or have I gone completely off my rocker?

Young Sherlock Holmes?

EDIT: The movie does have an Egyptian cult, and by use of hallucinagenic darts causes victims to see terrifying visions, one of which was the chick falling into an open grave and being attacked by the dead. Its been a good while since I've seen it, but it sounds similar.

Its also not a horror movie despite some horrific scenes, so that might explain why its so hard to find.

Sorry that doesn't ring any bells, but I got one for ya,anyone remember a movie where there's either a vigilante or a criminal psychopath who has a wrist guard with two blades on it kinda like a cheap wolverine knockoff, and he wears like a plastic ski mask or hockey mask thing or something. I think he had voice modulation, and I seem to remember someone getting their throat slashed and also someone sticking a note to a body with a tack. Just like Hawk I was young and it scared the shit out of me, and I have no freaking clue what it was called. Confused

Holy fucking shit Robo, you got it. After some youtube searching, I present to you a scene that gave Little Hawk nightmares for weeks:

Sadly enough, the one with the hands in the grave doesn't seem to be up on youtube, but I'll do some further searching when I get home. Thanks so much for the help guys. That's actually a load off my mind lol. Solves a mystery I've been trying to get to the bottom of for years.

I'm glad to have lived up to my namesake. Or at least half of it.

Well, time to kill all humans.

Holy shit lmao. No wonder I had nightmares.

That wasn't the specific scene I was thinking of, but frankly, that's far scarier than an army of undead. *shudder*

Anyone have any ideas on the movie I mentioned? I think it had corn beef hash in it too, or that's what we ate for dinner the night I stayed up and was scared shitless by it. Confused

Ahahahahaha, that should be a t-shirt. The 'the cake is a lie' logo on one side, and a picture of the killer cupcakes with 'the cake is a homicidal maniac!' on the other. I would pay up to twenty-five, nay, thirty dollars for a shirt that awesome.

I can't tell you how weird it is to find out that this isn't actually a horror movie. I've thought of it as one for so long, it doesn't fully compute lol.

The fact that's its Sherlock Holmes explained why I started watching it in the first place, though. I've been a fan of his since I was like five.

I prefer my hybrid of "The cake is a lie!" with Tony Stark asking "How did you solve the icing problem?"

Have you seen the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes

Image

I can't watch any other actor play Holmes without thinking "how would Jeremy do it?"

Oh hell yes, I would say he is almost, ALMOST my favorite Holmes. Basil Rathbone will always be the Holmes I see in my head when I read the stories ("Hound of the Baskervilles" was my first Holmes movie, and stil my favorite), but Brett is right up there with the best, and looks the closest to the Holmes I saw in my head before I saw any movies.

Incidentally, and pretty much on the same subject, I can't tell you how badly I want this figure:

Image

The REAL best Sherlock Holmes, rite? Wink (Well, except when he fucks up the Holodeck and sets Moriarty loose, but really that was Geordi-Watson's fault, so...)
