Legally, the school can't affect yours marks based on something that isn't in the curriculum. So unless fingerprinting is part of your class curriculum, get your parents to bring it to the school board and watch how fast your mark is changed back. Unless, the school wants to break the law themselves of course.

Well, to tell the truth. I didn't be my grades marked down because I think my teacher thought it was crap as well.. One of myfriends told me that he got -100 points on his grade because he didn't do it.

Another thing is that they were all given out during our first hour class so if somebody is close to failing this class but doesn't do it or loses the kit then they are fucked

Fingerprinting = Invasion of Privacy? How exactly? There is nothing invasive about fingerprinting, I'm sorry. How exactly could the government use it against you if you didn't do anything wrong. If the government is that evil they would just throw you in jail without any reason. The 1984 impresssion of the U.S. government is annoying to me. Freedoms are not being infringed upon, and if they are watching you there is a reason for it. The NSA does not have enough employees to watch every citizen in the U.S.. They watch the people that should be watched. And if you want to be a criminal, they will get the fingerprints eventually. You get your fingerprints taken whenever you are locked up, and unless you are a master criminal you will be locked up eventually. If they made a law requiring every citizen to give a DNA and fingerprint sample I would support it. It is for the greater good, and the only people that would be hurt by the law are criminals. Sorry, I just don't think that such things are invasions of privacy.

The government is not allowed to collect private information from citizens without their consent without just cause. It's one of the staples of out free society. That private information certainly includes fingerprints.

I have no problem being printed...I've had it done three times. Twice to get a security license in California and once when I worked for TSA...but some people have an issue, and unless they're a suspect in a crime, or have been convicted of one, they have the right to refuse it.

I'm actually with hacker and Usa on this one. As a parent, if I found out that the school was fingerprinting my kid without my consent, I'd be fucking pissed.

That said, if asked I would probably GIVE consent because the kidnapping/lost argument actually holds some water imho. But to just do it unasked? Oh hell no.

Fingerprinting, fine. DNA? That would be bad. There's a lot more you can do with someone's DNA besides just identifying evidence, which includes, but is not limited to, cloning them, or making DNA specific biological weapons.

Now you are just pulling shit out of your ass... no Fingerprinting kit that any school should give out would have DNA collection tools along with it.

Okay... I find an error.... most DNA kits would involve you putting it into a Sterile environment. Putting it into a bag is prone to leaks and therefore would not be suitable to use for storage...

Well, don't do that.

Oh, and you're full of crap. If they were taking DNA samples at any school, the ACLU would be all over that shit in seconds.

And it's far more significant than fingerprinting. It's what you would remember first, and the fact you didn't post that with the thread tells me you are making stuff up. What you did is kind of like remembering you scraped your arm yesterday...but today, oh, right, you also had a hand cut off. That doesn't happen.

This happened way to long ago to remember perfectly. I remeber the cotton swabs because I shoved one of them into my Friends mouth

When I originally posted this I was intending for this to I in the direction of "they shouldn't be able to deduct points from your grade"

hahaha... You are really special ed you know that. NO DNA COMPANY, Regardless of state and stature, will EVER give you a bag to place DNA into! NONE! I've worked with DNA for the past two years as part of a biology and microbiology course. (Granted I'm natrual resources, it's part of my major at this college) and everytime we sent samples in for analysis, we always A) placed it into a sealed test tube B)Placed it into the little air tight containers, like what you see in CSI and C) most of the time we make sure it's a sterile environment.

Quit trying Hacker... you are only digging yourself further into a cess pool

...but a thread about you that goes on for more than a page, likely up to 3 pages before it gets locked.
