Just finished watching Prancer on AMC... I haven't seen it since I saw it in a theater in '89. What a sad movie.

To hijack this thread, I caught the end of "Field of Dreams" (which I haven't seen in almost a decade) today and I never laughed so hard at the ending. Literally one cliche moment/line after another. Film school has ruined me... that and knowing who Kevin Costner is.

Yeah, imagine growing up in the state that was made in. And then getting a job at a telemarketing company located on "Field of Dreams Way" in the town near where it was filmed.

At the end? I was inspired to kick some alien ass from a speech earlier in the film. Lone Star can talk me into anything. Except Monopoly: Gay Edition.

I've never seen Prancer... what's the gist of it?
|
Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

A little girl named Jessica lives on a failing farm with her widower dad (Sam Elliot) and her brother. Her mother died and her father doesn't feel her can give her all the things she deserves in life and wants to send her to live with her aunt after Christmas. Jessica wants to stay with her dad. One day, she finds an injured reindeer and become's convinced it's Prancer from Santa's team. She tried to convince her dad to let her take care of it, but he wants to shoot it to put it out of its misery. But when he goes to shoot it, it disappears. Later that night, Jessica awakens and finds it hiding in their barn. Knowing her father will kill it of he find it, she hides him in an old supply barn that they don't use anymore. A whole bunch of other stuff happens to... but basically it's about childhood innocence and stuff.

Christmas isnt about manly action explosion fest, its about singing bad songs about your dominance over cold or heat and stopping terrorists.

Christmas is about celebrating with a loved one while blowing up either a 747 or a business building while you're at it.

I just found out after 19 years, Spaceballs: The Soundtrack has finally been released on CD.

It might not be Star Wars, but listening to the samples, I am filled with euphoria and joy.
