I bought an unopened copy of Zelda: A Link to the Past (For the SNES, of course) with all the original documentation (including an old NP subscription card offering a free players guide) for just $10 a few days ago at a garage sale Smile It made my whole weekend, especially considering my original copy disappeared some time ago Confused
Anyone else find something amazing for cheap at a garage sale?

Awesome find!

I never found anything that amazing at a garage sale. The closest I got is actually buying an unopened copy of Resident Evil 0 that was still in the original wrap from a card shop.

The best thing I've ever gotten at a garage sale is not shot at.

I bought Final Fantasy III (Or VI), Contra III and Star Fox for nine dollars at a Boy Scout Garage Sale. I grabbed them and paid and ran to my car, locked them in and went back to see if I could find more.

... Did you sell the game, dummies? I bet it's worth a bit.

Best thing I've found was a PS1 game called "Tail Concerto" for $15. It's Atlus's first game. And is worth roughly $90 for an opened without a manual. I found two. Both with everything.

(Not at a garage sale but... I like bragging)

I havn't found shit really, but now I'm going to go to more garage sales.

Sell LoZ: LTTP or at least NEVER open it. I would guess you could get at least 300$ on ebay, probably more. Unopened Chrono Trigger was up on ebay for 2,500$ I think. LoZ isn't as rare but it was so popular that most of the sold games have been opened up so 300$ is just a guess but I could see it going over 500$.

I brought this conversation up with my cousin earlier today and he told me he found Suikoden II for 20 bucks at a garage sale. He bought it, but when he started to play it, the game wouldn't start because of a nasty scratch on the back. At least the Sony screen started up, but he couldn't go any further...

Since he mentioned documentation I would imagine the cellophane has already been removed. Without that its not going to sell for $300. The collectors willing to pay that much want them factory sealed. Regardless, its still a nice find though. I just hope he didn't rip off the cellophane himself and turn a $300 value into a $30 value.

Yeah, i did remove the cellophane :/ but it was worth it ^_^ I haven't played this game since I was 4 or 5... Yeah, you all probably think I'm an idiot, but trust me, if there had been two copies, or i ever see another one, I'm going to buy it and NOT open it. I know how much the better SNES games are worth...
I think I might post my collection pretty soon, though it is pretty small.... I have a copy of Chrono trigger (unfortunately all that remains is a single poster and the cartridge), Tetris attack, starfox, and a few others....

At least you are taking it in stride. If you ever see another classic NES or SNES game still in the cellophane though sell it off no matter how good the game is (especially a classic NES game). You will make more than enough profit to buy another copy and have plenty of cash left to spend on whatever else you want. There are some hardcore NES collectors out there.

3rd best find:
Found Ultima: Exodus and Ultima: Quest of the Avatar for the NES at a yard sale for two bucks.

2nd best find:
Found an SNES with 11 games at a yard sale for $20.

Best find:
Found Earthbound, still in the original huge box, never opened, packed with a guide, for $15.

Shocked I would gladly trade most of my collection, for just that. I'd even sell my SNES and get another later. Damn. I want a copy of Earthbound so freaking bad...

I actually owned Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger since about when they came out, but ran across both games for 5 bucks a piece at a garage sale 2 years ago. I scooped both of them up and have them sitting on a shelf in case I accidentally break one.

Damnnit! I've wanted that game for ages! I'm a major Atlus fan and I've had my eye on that game for ages. You're incredibly lucky!
