Simple. What's the worst movie you've ever seen, and why?

I'll do mine later on...but a hint. Not only did it really kind of suck and not make sense, it completely ruined an entire franchise for me.

I may have seen worse, but that's the first one that came to mind.

Well, I'm gonna go on record and say it's Terminator 3.

The movie itself was pretty awful. Boring, nonsensical, did nothing but set up sequels, and really had nothing to offer except OMFG A GIRL TERMINATOR!!!!!! But really, I hate it for what it did to the earlier movies.

T2 was, by nearly any standard, an awesome freaking movie. But it had one thing that really stands out I'm going to mention as relevant: A definite, final ending, which reinforces the theme of the movie. The future is not set in stone. Things can always change. No fate but what we make. Nice theme. No reason whatsoever to screw with it.

T3 takes a crap on all of that. Fuck you, you can't prevent the future. It just happens later. So we can make more movies.

So, yeah, for ruining an awesome franchise for me, plus just really sucking, T3 gets my vote.

That's a good point, but if you're like me, you wanted to see the terminators take over. But when this was prevented at the end of the second movie, there was no way in hell that they would make a movie showing it. But because T3 got made, now we're going to get to see that. So, you're right. In a way, T3 was really made to make as much money as possible by setting up for future films. If it wasn't made, however, we would be left with a boring future in which nothing happens. Also, if the end of the world is prevented, there is no reason for John, Sarah and the T-800? (Arnold) to keep Miles Dyson, the Cyberdyne programmer dude, from developing Skynet, so it will be developed anyways. This means there will be war in the future, so John and Sarah are going to try and stop Dyson, so the war will seemingly be prevented. So just by existing, the movie (T2) sets up sequels for itself out of the nessesity to end the pattern and explain why things kept moving on without looping back on itself. OR DID I JUST BLOW YOUR FUCKING MIND?!?!

What would really have made the most sense for the third movie is for John to find out a piece of one of the terminators somehow survived, and because of this, the nuclear holocaust and terminator rising still happen. I agree, though, T3 is pretty fucking awful.

Yes. See, that would have made some sense to me. Anything but, "Fuck you and your No Fate, it happens anyways".

And let me counter your mind-blow with a mind-blow: If Skynet is inevitable, isn't someone rising up against it also inevitable? If the machines manage to actually kill John/Sarah in the past, won't someone else take his place? If fate is inevitable, it should fuck over the computers as well as the humans.

Yes, but if they do manage to kill them in the past, then in the future there will be no need to kill them. So they will live and become a thorn in the collective asses of the terminators, causing the terminators to go back in time and kill them. If they are killed again, then the terminators will not need to go back in time to kill them in the future, so they never die, and fuck with the terminators. So the terminators will try to go back in time to kill them. This is a classic example of the Grandfather Paradox . So I guess that there could be a whole shitload of Parallel Universes out there in which John is dead, the end of the world never happens, Sarah is dead, and so on, depending on what you want to think.

Batman And Robin, I still can't believe I spent $5 to see this shit back in 1997. Terminator 3 is a close second for the reasons UsaSatsui already pointed out.

Halloween III for me. That movie was horrible. For me it was just about the worst movie I've ever seen. A movie doesn't really come to mind that I hate as much as that movie.

I almost forgot about Street Fighter: The Movie. I remember seeing M.Bison and thinking that he was played by Christopher Lloyd for some reason...

Wasn't he played by Raul Julia? Anyway, the Street Fighter movie was awful. "Hey, let's make a movie with a really primitive plot involving a douchebag trying to take over the world and throw in a whole bunch of Street Fighter characters because we can."

I think he was. I remember I stopped watching when I realized that they made Guile the main character of the movie.

At this point I thought someone was going to mention Turkish Star Wars. Then again I kind of like that movie.

Yes, it was Raul Julia in his final role

I remember seeing his "I'm dying, so I don't give a shit!" smile in that movie.

Their are several that I have vowed never to watch again, but I'm not sure which I would consider the worst. To be fair I am not including movies that were supposed to be painful to watch (e.g. Pink Flamingos) or movies so bad that I find them enjoyable to watch (i.e. Jaws 4).

Here are the ones I can think of right now that I have no desire to ever see again:

*Batman and Robin
*Star Wars Episode I
*Meet the Spartans (to save space every movie made by those writers sucked so this is the only one I am listing)
*Wicker Man
*Fantastic Four and the somehow even worse sequel
*Leonard Part 6

You know what? Fuck you, lol. Street Fighter was GENIUS for all the completely wrong reasons, and be it as it may, Raul Julia's overacting as Bison MADE the movie.

The worst movie I've ever seen was Fahrenhype 9/11, if that counts. Fahrenheit 9/11 could be either brilliant or propaganda, but fahrenhype basically exists as a 90 minute repeat of "STFU MICHAEL MOORE!"

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

I could say several films, but the one that hit me first was Alone in the Dark. And I mention this one not only because it was a crappy film (the only Boll flick I ever liked was Postal), but I saw this pile of steaming crap when we had a freak ice storm. I slipped and busted my ass three times walking to the theater (I'm a guy, so I'll admit I fell). The two draws for me were that it was based off a series of video games and that it had Christian Slater in it.

I thought this thread was about the Worst movies, not just movies that weren't very good.

T3, not great. Still, it had decent acting, a story that moved, and sitting through it wasn't the most painful experience of my life. I'd give it a 3/10, but that is still 3 more than I would give to "The worst movie ever".

The same goes for every Jean-Claude Van Damme movie. They were all bad, but still... none were the worst.

I think jackfrost was on to something with Meet the Spartans. That movie was among the worst I have seen.

Still, I am going to go with:

* Ed Wood
* Rushmore
* Batman and Robin

Obviously these are personal choices. I mean, Ed Wood and Rushmore are both considered great movies by people who can get into that type of humor, but for those who can't... imagine glass in your eyes.

Note: I don't think that Biodome deserves to be #1

I don't understand how movies like Star Wars Episode 1, Ed Wood and Street Fighter can be on some of your lists when they are at least entertaining or watchable. Pieces of shit like Gigli, Catwoman and Baby Geniuses are watchable by no one. And anyone that says they have sat through the duration of any of them are either A. Lying or B. Robots.

Ed Wood was trying to be clever or something with the dialogue and absurdity of the situations but it sucked and I didn't give a shit about anything or anyone in that movie.

Those movies are listed on just about every movie site as the "Worst of all time".

I haven't seen any of them, so I don't know, but I get the impression that the hate for these films is partially earned and partially hype.

Also, I felt that Ed Wood was bad enough that I couldn't finish it.

I've seen all three. They are on those lists for good reason. I sat through Catwoman completely, the other two I did not. The hype has no effect on how terrible they are.

To put it simply I thought Episode I was so bad that I don't even enjoy the original trilogy as much as I used to. That just saddens me. The characters were either bland or annoying, the plot was complete nonsense, and even the action was not that entertaining. I'm not bad mouthing the entire prequel trilogy though, because I didn't mind Episode II and III. Those two, while not as good as the original trilogy, were entertaining enough to maintain my interest. I would literally erase the memory of Episode I from my mind if I had the choice though. As for Gigli, Catwoman, and Baby Geniuses I'm sure they are bad, but I will never know. I have never any any desire to see any of them and doubt I ever will.
