Ghoul School gets easier as you get further into it. Once you get some long distance weapons it is much better. I know what you mean though, when you start off that game you are pretty much defenseless.

Ghost House for the Master System. I know I'm hung up on the MS, however I think Ghost House isn't a mainstream title.

Just like to point out that everyone has done this game, but I might just do it for the lulz

Still, Jason is abso-freakin-lutely insane on the third day. If you can get past all three days, I shall bow to your altar.

And regarding Ghoul School, it's always been one of my favorite NES games, full of fond memories. Jackfrost called it right, it becomes much, much easier once you get a long-range weapon, especially with the Digestaray.

On that note, I have beaten Jason on the third day. My cousin, brother and I used to hold contests on the NES when that's all we had, to see who could beat them using only Debbie, Paul and George. I never did that good because Mark was used to fight Pam's severed head...

Blech, that's masochism right there...I remember a few months ago I was so proud of myself because I never made it past the first day before, and on the same day I made it to the second day I also made it to the third day...yipes. I didn't even know what to do, Jason moves so fast, I was just like..."Okay? And that was supposed to be fair? I'm supposed to be able to win at this point?"

The items Pam does have are actually quite useful, the only problem is you must get them all to get the pitchfork on the final day. If you miss the first or second, you get a letter on the last day saying that you missed something, but you can still beat him with the torch.
But I digress... Start giving me names of obscure Sega games from the Master System to the CD, including the 32 X

Ghost House, Transbots, Space Harrier, Maze Hunter 3-D, and Choplifter for the Master System.

Eternal Champions and the Incredible Hulk for the Genesis. I would've added Gunstar Heroes, however I know that game isn't exactly obscure.

I could never quite get into this one. The hit detection, combined with how sluggish the gameplay was, kind of ruined it for me. The little backstories for all of the characters were rather interesting reads, and it's a shame that such neat characters had to go to waste.

I recieved the game during my "button-mashing" stage in life. I was pretty young so it was understandable. Hit-detection aside, this game was what inspired me to pursue other fighting games. If I hadn't picked up this game I would've never understood how to pull off special moves. It was also my first Genesis game, so I have fond memories of it.
