Two weeks out, I'm in my first ever boxing match. It's only three rounds for three minutes each. My opponant: My roommate.
Now I'm nerevous. He's a big guy and while much of it is fat I'm pretty sure he's got some power. I'm a big guy too, but I know I'm not exactly the hardest hitter. So I am going to try to build up speed and rely on my countering ability, but I was wondering if anyone here knows how to box and could help me out with some pointers.

I'm not exactly concerned about my face... this ugly mug might look better in the long run if it gets the crap beaten out of it. But I see your point in the protecting the head at all times.

Sounds cool, I used to be on the wrestling team in middle school. My first question my first day was something like "Can I slam people WWF style?"
"Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it’s because they sat there that they were able to do it."
"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."

you protect your head because head shots are the best way to knock someone out. You go for the body until the hands begin to drop, then you hit the head as hard as you can. That is out you score clean knockouts

So I had my first Spar with my opponant, and Ifigured that right from the start he's going to swing immediately to get me off gaurd. I figure I can get in close and do some body shots while clinched then back away. Only problem is that he'll do the same attack when I re-enter, which is a left hook to the head. I can take a shot to the head at max twice, any suggestions?
We had the week off from last Wed. I'm getting nervous since A) I pulled a muscle on saturday at a rugby Tournamenr and B) My head was pounding from his three initial Hits. Though if I'm able to fight this Wed, the I'll try to get a video of it.

That was choas. It looked like you and your opponent just went after each other without regard to tactics, style, or strategy. If that's the way your opponents are going to fight, you should learn to dodge and block effectly and let them wear themselves out in the 1st round, then own them.

My cornerman before the fight said I needed to move around and I tried, but when he came right in I had no choice but to wrap him up.
I suprised both my opponant and myself with all the headshots I took
