I just finished watching Alien Vs. Predator and am no more or less pissed than before I started watching it. At best, I thoroughly enjoyed it; at worst, I couldn't find a thing wrong with it. Anyone want to leave their comments, perhaps spell it out for me, for all the good it'll do?

The first one was tolerable. A gimmick movie - so my expectations weren't set too high even though there is a lot I could gripe about. Especially considering it meant the end of 2 decent franchises. But the second movie was absolute garbage and pretty much guaranteed that a third would never get made by the same crew.

I hated the PG-13 rating, the story and most of the actors/actresses with the exception of Lance Henriksen because it did give a little background on the creator of the company. Other than that small bit I enjoyed the movie was horrible. They would have been better off basing it off the Alien VS Predator beat-um-up arcade game by Capcom.

both movies were rather mediocre in my opinion. the only interesting aspect was the backstory they gave the aliens in the first installment (using aliens to train predators)

other than that, thumbs down

I liked that Requiem wasn't PG-13, but that's about the only thing it has over the original.

I hated how the Predators were shown as showing people how to build stuff like the pyramids and were gods to these people.

i agree. that bit of 'history' was annoying.

Did the roommate make you watch the movie or were you really drunk or something?

I ended up seeing the first one in the theater back in 2004 because my cousin wanted to go and there was nothing better to do that day.

Here are my major gripes about the movie:

PG-13...What the fuck!? I mean I know they wanted to get more people to see it but toning down a movie like this was a really dumb decision. What good is an Alien or Predator movie if you don't have a ton of gore?

I also hated the backstory segments on most of the characters. Like how they were selected to go on the mission and all that. Who fucking cares!? We know that most of them will die anyway.

Plus that one predator being friendly...give me a fucking break. If a predator saw you with its gun it would kill your ass without bothering to think about it.

The Predalien also pissed me the hell off. They should have done it like they showed in the PC game Alien VS Predator 2. Where the Wayland-Yutani company basically created the Predalien by messing with the DNA of both aliens and Predators.
